Today in the consumer- society conditions 'heartless' is very common state of mind as one of expression's of ignorance the Divine Will. It seems, human being's real nature would not consist the state of mind 'heartless'. The last, linked with the other lower mind's characteristics as greed, jealousy, proud, etc. destructs the harmony of Great Order of God (Nature) and caused many local/global disasters over the world. I didn't wish to add negative vibrations to the mail and therefore missed it. Below are Swami explanations how to avoid the destructive form of mind what mostly acts through heartless and how to be protected from actions done by heartless 'harsh world.' "The Creator has endowed man with numerous marvellous qualities. Besides the six virtues mentioned earlier man has also got six vices. The opposites of the six virtues are Desire (Kaama), Anger (Krodha), Greed (Lobha), fascination (Moha), Pride (Mada) and Envy (Maathsarya). These are known as the six enemies of man. They are part of creation. The mind is the master of these vices. Man tries to train the mind to overcome these vices. But this is not easy for all. The reason is that, being unaware of how to control the mind, man becomes an easy prey to its vagaries. Everyone should strive to find out how to use the mind in any situation, at any time and in any circumstance." (Sri Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba. The Divine Discourse: "Dedicate Your Lives to the Divine." 25 Dec. 1997, Prashanti Nilayam). Further Swami explains the forms of mind. "The mind is in three forms. The first is dull and bestial (tamoguna), the second is passionate (rajoguna) and the third is pure and pious (satwa guna). The dull mind will hide the Truth and publicize falsehood. It continuously criticizes the good. It views the sacred as unholy. In tamoguna everything is opposite. It keeps poking fun at others, condemning others and hurting others..." (Sri Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba. The Divine Discourse: "Love Seeks No Return ." 25 Dec. 1995, Prashanti Nilayam). Heartless is the child of six vices and dull, bestial mind actions. Swami advices to teach dull and bestial mind and transcend tamoguna. When mind can achieve the control over mind's dull and bestial form, then six vices will be under control too. The most firm path to teach the mind is: "Develop the love of God...All are children of God. Everyone should seek to get nearer and nearer to God. That is sadhana. You must feel that God dwells in your heart ( Hridayavaasi). You must develop compassion in the heart, because without it the heart is only a stone." (Sathya Sai Baba. The Divine Discourse: "Realize God Through Love." 25 Dec. 1996, Prashanti Nilayam). Anyone of us is not protected from 'tamoguna' form of mind of some others who acts (often even not to be aware of it) far and wide in the 'harsh world.' It seems that it is only one firm protection advised by Swami. "You have only one heart; it is not a double sofa or a musical chair. There is only one place. Only Love can occupy the seat of your heart. The other things merely come and go. But we must do our duty. I do not ask you to forsake or give up anything. Discharge your duties. Do your work or business, but whatever you do, offer it to God. "All actions should be done in order to please God," say the Vedas. All actions which are performed with the body should be done with the feeling that the body is a temple and the indweller is the jiva or Self. This body is a moving temple. So don't think God is elsewhere. Wherever your body is, there is God." (Sathya Sai Baba. The Divine Discourse: "Love Seeks No Return ." 25 Dec. 1995, Prashanti Nilayam). In His other discourse He explains the significance of realization the divinity within. " Without realizing the divinity within him, man becomes egoistic and feels that all his accomplishments are due to his education, intelligence and physical prowess. But in reality it is the divinity that protects and safeguards man at every step from womb to tomb. No one has the power to protect one's own self. It is only the divine power and divine Will that enables man to protect himself." (Sathya Sai Baba. Divine Discourse: "Relevations of Divinity." 14 Jan. 1999. Prashanti Nilayam).
