dear sai brothers and sisters

my humble pranams at swami's lotus feet

i am a psychiatrist, currently practising in australia and i have

been, very keenly, following all the activities in this group-i must

say that i was quite overwhelmed by some of the experiences

mentioned. i have been thinking of writing on a recent experience

(which may sound pretty ordinary, given the fact that swami has

performed great miracles) i and my family had.

the story would seem more interesting when i also relate the reason

behind my wanting to write this as well. we just returned from a

brief holidays in india (where the incident occured)and attended our

first bhajan upon returning last thursday. it is almost customary

that people who return from india mention about their experiences (as

it is understood that they may have had swami's darshan) and i had

nothing to say (as we were not fortunate to have swami's darshan)-i

was therefore thinking of what i would talk about if asked to, when

an uncle who was leaving back after a short holidays here mentioned

some of his experiences and also mentioned how each one of us have

some "story to tell-however small". this is what prompted me to write

regarding our experience.

as i had already mentioned, it is just an ordinary incident. we had

planned to visit puttaparthi while on holidays so that we have his

darshan. however, as mentioned above we could not make it for many

reasons. while we were in india, on the second day there i saw this

television advsertisement in one of the local channels, about a

program on swami-this was on air earlier, but they had since

discontinued it. now they were planning to start airing it all over

again. i was really happy and was looking forward to watching this

program every week; however, it so happened that we could never see

this-we probably got the wrong channel (thre being more than one

asianet channels) and also got the wrong day (i thought it was the

saurday) or we were visiting friends and family-the bottomline was

that swami was savng it all for another time. finally, our holidays

came to an end and it was time for us to leave-we were obviously sad

leaving our family; moreover, we could not have his darshan. infact

on the last day (that was on friday the 6th) my wife and i visited a

few temples near our house (and we had darshan although we chose a

rather odd time)-i remember thinking at lord siva's temple that we

have had all this darshan except swami's. we returned home got ready

and were planning to leave around 7 pm. here is was sitting in front

of the tv (at 6:30 pm), bored and with a heavy heart surfing the

channels, when i hit the right button!!!there and then i saw swami's

program on asianet-i had his darshan-it was to me swami's way of

telling me that he would not let me leave india without his darshan.

i was in tears when i saw this program-more because it dawned on me

heavily how much he loves each one of us. swami probably has a reason

why he has postponed a darshan in person (we are yet to see him in

person). i was nonetheless happy to have his darshan this way. and

that dear brothers and sisters is my little story. i wish you all all

happiness.

are working on our spirituality in a serious way that synchronicity happens

again and  again to show us that our lord Baba is aware of us and helping us

every step of the way.  When we truely listen to our hearts(where Baba is) we

will get signs in books or e-mails or this forum or from strangers in the

street.  When we walk by faith and not by sight we are more aware of the lords

presence.  We just moved to Poinciana Florida two months ago and yesterday I

broke a tooth;  I went to the yellow pages and found a dentist who would see me

that day, and as I learned, not far from my house.  When I went there we talked

and I learned he was from India(has a house north of New Delhi) and that his

wife and daughter are followers of Sai Baba.  He is not, right now, although I

told him Baba had sent me to him and it maybe time for him to go.  He paused,

and said, Hmmmmm, destiny.  He is a very good dentist and a very nice man, he

has a small picture of Baba in his office there.  I believe the lord wants a

little effort from us and when we give it he returns that effort a hundred

fold; I realize that he helps regardless, but the more effort we put in(my

belief only) the more we receive.   God Bless   Love Joe

Dear Sai Brother Anoop,

Thank you so much for sharing that story with us.

Please I would like to tell you that it is most assuredly true

that there is no such thing as a 'small' story of swami. He

is omnipresent and he is with us all the time .. it is us who

needs to purify ourselves and to develop faith in Sai for

it is only when we have true faith of him that he can manifest

his love for us in more tangible ways. He always loves us... he is himself love

and loves only to give.

I would like to share with you a 'small' story myself about swami.

Before I went to Puttaparthi the first time... it was a few years of me trying

to come up with enough money,

to work out the details, to convince my husband to watch the kids and who this

curly haired orange robed man

was that I wanted to run off to India and see.

Before I went .. I used to sit on Thursday and do my bhajans and I would watch

the video Pure Love and try to

feel myself having his darshan. It would many times move me to tears. But I

always felt in my heart very far

from Swami and I never knew how to bridge that gap.

When I finally got to Puttaparthi .. on my first day of darshan I got row 24. In

fact I was the 7th person in .. in row 24.

I don't why but I thought it significant somehow. I had watched all morning many

leelas with people .. including some

people who when they didn't get row 1 .. got disgusted and left thier lines to

go have breakfast instead of bothering to

have Swami's darshan!!

When Swami finally came in for darshan ... everyone was moved and excited. He

looked as if he lit from within.

I began to feel overcome with many different emotions ... one of which was

feeling ... so far from our lord. Then something

curious happened.

Swami changed direction and started giving darshan in a peculiar way. I couldn't

put my finger on it at first but I watched

intently every move he made. Then after about 5 minutes ... I realized that he

was giving darshan to people .. in actions and

manners and movement ... EXACTLY as he does in part of the Video Pure Love ...

When this occurred ... I said stunned

inside myself and half out loud ... Oh my Gosh .. he's acting out Pure Love. At

that moment ... he stopped and from across

the floor over many peoples heads ... He stopped, looked right at me, and smiled.

Swami is always there. It is our job to come to him. :) There are no 'small'

moments with Sai .. they are all moments designed

to bring us closer to him .. to have more faith. It is our faith in him that is

the crucial factor I think. As long as we are filled with

self importance, ego, or fear .. we keep him far from us. He LOVES to give. Once

we realize that ... everything changes.

I must say that reading Anoop Sankaranarayanan's email on Swanu's Darshan realy

broght tears of happiness. Yes, I know and feel the excitement of his

experience. Swami is so loving towards all his children...............that to

stay in his love and bliss is undiscribable.

There have been so many incidents in my life too that when ever I needed help of

his guidances I prayed and talked to him from my heart and along the way of

solving the problems it all just fell in place so nicely and when I thought of

it afterwards, I was in tears ..........knowing that Swami was there all along

helping me and guiding me like a loving mother would guide her own daughter in

life.

I am very, very happy that you shared your experienc with us all.

Yours in Swami's name,

Sairam.

Dear Anoop, SaiRam! Your experience is

indeed very rich!  Swami is very much on your mind.  You remember him

a lot.  You are following the Bhakti Marga.  Keep it up!  Sometimes

we have Darshan at the most unexpected time and places.  During last year,

I was feeling that I was not able to go to Puttaparthi and have Darshan of Bhagawan.

There was the feeling of sadness associated with it.  I was checking my

mail one day as usual unexpectedly.  I found a chatelaine magazine (this

is a Canadian magazine) in my mail box.  I found that it actually belonged

to my neighbour.  The magazine was not sealed in a cover, so I was able to

browse the magazine.  Lo and behold I found an article about a lady who is

making a difference in her community by her ceaseless service activities.

I have been aware, that should be the characteristic of God’s

devotee.  As I was reading through the article, there was a picture of

this lady sitting at the altar (the puja room) in her house.  The picture

captured the robe of Swami on a chair,  which made me very very happy!

Dear Joe and Melody,

Very happy to read your messages responding to Brother Anoop. You have

shared your valuable experiences. I agree with you that we need to put in

that effort. As Swami said, "you take one step towards me and I will take

10 steps towards you." And the other quote from him, "You look to me and I

look to you."

Love All,
