Events at Prashanthi Nilayam, Jan 15, 2004

Swami came in the white SAAB with the top open at 7:10 a.m. in a procession with

the Ananthapur Band Group leading followed by the Prasanthi Nilayam Campus Band

following them with swami’s car coming after the PSN band while the Veda

chanting was going on. After going round the devotees, swami came to the lounge

and sat down in the Sofa. On the right side a lot of shields and cups were

neatly arranged on tables - ready for the prize distribution function.

The program started at 7:30 a.m. with Swami telling the Whitefield campus

principal, Sri Sanjay Sahney to announce that there will be five speakers in

the morning. The first to speak was Sri S.V.Giri Vice Chancellor followed by Dr

G.Venkataraman ex VC, Sri Chakravarthi, Secretary, central Trust, Kumari

Bhavani, 3rd year BA student from Ananthapur campus and Sri Prashant Dikshit,

2nd year MBA student from PSN campus.

After these, Swami started the discourse at 8:35 a.m. The main theme of the

speech was the advice to students to develop self respect and respect every

one, be grateful to the parents and bring good name to the institution. He is

interested inn the students being good men in the society rather than being

great men in the society. Swami ended the discourse at 9:35 am. There was no

Bhajan at the end of Discourse. Swami then presented five huge cups which were

from brought from His room and gave to PSN campus, Whitefield campus,

Ananthapur campus, Secondary school and primary school. The primary school boys

who received the cups were only a few inches taller than the cup! He then spoke

highly of the three ex students who are now working closely with Swami;

Satyajit, Nitin Acharya and Prusti. Swami said that they all had many offers

with high salary but they chose to be with Bhagawan. The message implied was

that money is not that important like

morality. Swami then went to His room at 10:45 a.m. and left for Purnachandra

Hall abode at 11:15 a.m. The devotees had an uninterrupted Darshan of Swami for

almost three and a half hours!

Afternoon

In the afternoon, Swami came at 3:25 pm in the red Maruthi Esteem. The Veda

chanting continued till 4:15 pm and then swami asked Sri Poppat from UK to

speak. He spoke till 4:55 pm. Then swami asked Sri Anil Kumar to speak and he

spoke till 5:20 pm. The Bhajans started then and after two Bhajans, Mangala

Aarathi was held and Swami returned to His abode for the day.
