Addressing students at the 22nd convocation of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning here on Saturday, Baba said: ``Selfishness is like a fish in the water. The fish dies when it was taken out of the water. So do not become selfish but render selfless service to society for the benefit of human beings.'' Exhorting students not to live for money, Baba advised the students to earn morality. ``If money comes, it goes; but if you earn morality it never goes but grows. You will become true Indian when you have morality. You should realise that education is not to earn money because money ruins your peace. You should work for the welfare of needy people and strive hard to retain and preserve Indian culture." "Well-known singer M.S. Subbalakshmi never sang songs for money but to earn name and fame," Baba said. Emphasising the importance of self-confidence, Baba said: ``Self- confident leads to self-sacrifice which leads to self-realisation. So be confident of achieving your goal in the life, speak truth and follow righteous path.'' Baba said the students should not become stupids by mistaking the meaning of love. ``Love never destroys anyone but helps needy people. Love is God. You live in God, who is in your heart,'' Baba said. He said that many students forget to remember their motherland as soon as they land in a foreign country. ``Bharath is known for knowledge and sacrifice. You should not forget your motherland which is like your mother. Can anyone forgets his own mother? Be true son of Bharath and be proud to be the pride son of Bharath,'' he said. Earlier addressing the students, Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekawat appreciated the social service of Sathya Sai Sema Samithi in providing drinking water to 700 villages in drought prone areas of Anantapur district. ``I wish all religious organisations derive inspiration from Baba and in addition to spiritual upliftment, also work for amelioration of the poor, the hungry and the sick people,'' Shekawat said. The Vice-President said India was proud of its ancient civilisation and rich cultural heritage. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sai Baba in the media: http://www.saibabalinks.org/saibabainthemedia.htm
