Experiences like going out of the body, working while your consciousness is 6

inches or so above the crown charka, feeling other peoples thoughts,

emotions, pain and sufferings, being a witness to matter dissolving into light,

seeing

oneself dissolve into light and going invisable, levitation, seeing colors of

light rays, auras etc, being completely detached from ones body while acutely

aware of being in the body at the same time. These are a few of the

experiences I have experienced while meditating or being in a still peace.

My understanding is to not go off into any of these experiences ( having

curiosity etc.) or make them important in any way because it will deter you from

the path. To continue keeping on keeping on meditating and doing your spiritual

practices.

At different times of my life, I have taken time off to feel more grounded

and deal with the emotions etc. that would surface from spiritual practices or

life in general. Recently, I have cried daily for myself and the entire planet

for approximately a year and during that time it was too much for me to do

many spiritual practices. Little by little I begin back into my practices with a

lot of gentleness and compassion in great awe for the mystery of it all.

I have enjoyed reading this post. It is a topic that isnt discussed very

often. I hope this has been of some service. Thank you for sharing.

OM NAMAH SIVAYA

thank you for this post. i think you are so right we certainly don't

live in a box. and hopefully we will be able apply the concentration

and awareness gained thru our spiritual practices to other areas in

our life, improving our productivity, efficiency, and taking every

opportunity to help lift up others when possible. because in the big

picture, it seems that anyOne's individual spiritual progress is

really incomplete. we must need to bring everyone else along with or

why would The Guru keep returning? it's really One Soul evolving,

and like the saying a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.

excruciating pain, lack of ability to find words, seeing flashing

colored lights, seeing the floor and carpet dissolve as if not

solid, crying at the pain of strangers, headaches, nausea and more.

All of which came after a two month period of 6 hour a day prayers

and homas, and an extreme longing for Amma. I do not necessarily

attribute the symptoms directly to the sadhana, but i have done

healing work on others for many years, and I have been aware that

the purification process can carry with it a host of "symptoms"

which will seem weird and bizarre, only because of our lack of

understanding of the process. There are also times when I believe

we are taking on (maybe without our conscious knowledge) the pain of

others, and the pain of this planet, who is under so much stress.

We do not live in a box, so we can not think like we live in a box,

or measure experiences as if we lived in a box.

normally have awareness of only one level; the physical. There are

so many other levels, each more subtle than the last. Yet, although

we are ignorant of the existence of these other levels within us,

they are still there, and they always interacting, and trying to

integrate. As we awaken, these "other levels and dimensions" of our

existence will become more apparent to us as the whole begins to

integrate with all of it's parts. Pain is as much a part of the

natural process as pleasure.

thank you for some wise advice; i would like to add that perhaps

adding to whatever spiritual practices you are doing a simple

inquiry "who am i?" and when various experiences arise "who is it

that is having this amazing or scary experience?" might help in

grounding and take one closer to the goal of discovering "who am I?"

"koham?" is the inquiry in sanskrit.
