Guest guest Posted April 21, 2006 Report Share Posted April 21, 2006 I have played with the idea of living in a "monestary" since I was about 13 or 14 years old, before I was called to any one religion. The thought keeps popping back up with more frequency as of late, and my family is supportive of any choice I make for my life...but before I make the decision to try to get into one of Amma's ashrams, hopefully as a Bramacharini, I have some questions on the daily life and how one goes about moving to an Ashram. What sort of tasks are you appointed for Seva? What is the daily schedule like? What are you allowed to bring with you? What are you required to bring with you? Is it even possible to move to one, given space and such? What sort of application process is there? I've considered Amritapuri, though my mum would prefer if I lived "closer to home" for the time being, so I've also been looking at the ones in the US, particularly New Mexico (I live in Colorado).
