Namah Sivaya, Keval. This is a really good point, that different personalities

do best with

different types of seva. In addition to the public vs. behind-the-scenes issue

that you

mention....as coordinator of the darshan lines in NYC, we've noticed that a

certain type of

person does best in this seva -- grounded, focused, able to handle a lot of

stimulation

from multiple angles, able to maintain boundaries while remaining compassionate

and

calm. We've had people who've had a challenging time, because of a tendency to

get into

long conversations with new people approaching with questions or people on the

darshan

lines (and thus not attend to the responsibilities of the line seva). However,

we've found

that these people tend to make really awesome greeters, because they love

connecting

with new people and helping them to feel comfortable, welcome and at home. There

are

so many different opportunities for seva. Different cities usually have seva

coordinators

who can give people a better idea of what types of sevas might be a good fit for

them.

That said....we have ~250 seva slots to fill along the darshan lines for the NYC

programs

(including some easy ones on Devi Bhava night, like handing out mantra

brochures)! If

anyone is interested in doing darshan line seva in NYC, please drop me an email.

I'm

always happy to tell people what the lines seva positions involve or to answer

questions.

Blessings,

Iswari
