1988-89 North India Tour

I purchased the 1988-89 North India Tour video at the MA Center this weekend and

WOW is it good! There is some really incredible footage of Amma going into

samadhi while bathing in the icy Ganges at Haridwar. She stood in the river for

over an hour and a half, and after they took her out she was totally gone to the

world for another three hours, which apparantly was not too unusual for her back

in those days. They had her all wrapped up in blankets on the bank and were

rubbing her arms and legs, but it's clear that she's just gone. The expression

on her face is so unbelievably beautiful, like a sleeping child. There is also

lovely footage of roadside bhajans and chai stops, small gatherings in homes,

and visits to many holy places, including Dakshineswar. Very sweet.
