I saw that video, and it was profound as you said, but a small, cynical voice inside made me wonder if hypothermia might have had something to do with it. Not that I doubt that Amma could go into samadhi like that. But her body is susceptible to such influences.

Actually, Rick, the water flows intensely strongly at Haridwar and it is REALLY icy cold too. That is what they give you an anchor to hold on to, else you just flow and become one with the Ganges! My friends who have been there tell me that it is not possible to stay in the water for more than 5 mins without either going critical or dying. I think the Pacific Ocean around San Frananciso should give you an idea why. Against this, if you compare that she was floating in the Ganges for more than an hour and survived, THAT is a miracle. Guest guest
It wasn't hypothermia. The Ganga at Haridwar is not ice cold. I've spent quite a bit of time in it myself. Also many there thought She might just leave the body. She didn't go into Samadhi in that way very often in front of everyone at that point. It was very deep! - Rick Archer Ammachi Tuesday, April 11, 2006 1:18 PM Re: 1988-89 North India Tour on 4/11/06 1:15 PM, Prajna - Brianna at prajnaji wrote: > I purchased the 1988-89 North India Tour video at the MA Center this weekend > and WOW is it good!
