To Temba about Swami's (Dyamrita) awareness and dharma

Dear Temba ~ thank you so much for posting this heartfelt message about Sw.

Dayamrita.

You know a person by his/her behavior as well as by what (s)he might say.

Several years ago, I was afraid I had forgotten my Amma mantra. The original

paper on which it had been written is probably somewhere with all the other

stuff in my storage shed. I talked with someone at the Santa Fe Ashram, and she

arranged a time for Sw. Dayamrita to call me. He only needed to know what my

mantra was about, and then he very kindly and carefully gave me the correct

wording (actually I had not forgotten it) as well as the meanings. Believe me,

I ran right away and wrote it all down in one of my journals so I wouldn't

lose it again. But my own experience with Sw. Dayamrita, though brief, was very

sweet and encouraging.

 

I am remembering my grandmother's words (and probably just about everybody's

grandmother or mother has said this at one time or another: "If you can't

say something nice, don't say anything at all." I believe Amma would agree. Jai

Brother Dayamrita has always been very kind to me. If anyone has had a different

experience with him, I am not here to deny that. Their feelings and experience

come from

their own heart. Amma listens to EVERYTHING we tell her. She does ask us to then

discriminate in our actions and how we respond, but I assume she would want us

to listen

to each other's thoughts and feelings- not necessarily answer or react, but at

least listen.

Dayamrita has always listened in that way in my experience and has helped me too

in a

spirit of serving Amma by doing so.

 

I love Amma! I'm glad she has swamis, swaminis and brahmacharis to help her

mission

here on earth. They are not avatars like her, but they are really trying to

help.
