In reality we are love, the embodiment of love. Even though we are kings and queens of the universe, we have a deep-rooted habit of begging. We live and die as beggars. ....In fact we have the unlimited power of love within us. Both a porter and a scientist use their heads, only in different ways. When we give love, our hearts open up. When we give love, the whole world changes... Love is God. However much we talk about it, it is endless. It is the quintessence of all scriptures. The problem is that we start expecting love back, that's when the problem starts. Love that springs from emotions is not true love. When love grows and becomes more and more expansive it becomes universal love... Dear sarama ~ thank you for repeating this post of Jyotsna's notes from her question with Amma...another one that I needed to read today. My psychologist, who, in a way has become more a kind of "life coach," has often told me that when my family gives presents or love or any kind of giving, the part that keeps confusing me is that it is contingency based. I have sadly learned in very hard and deep ways over the past several years how true this is. I have often felt like the begging child. So I pray to Amma and God/dess that this need will be removed from me, that I will grow up ... again ... and that I will be able to love them whether they love me back or not.
