Guest guest
How do we really know someone else's true awareness? Despite what we physically see, there is more that we cannot see unless we are Realized ourselves. I am reminded of the realized saint in India that Amma took the ashramites to visit. I am sorry I cannot recall her name but it's in one of the books from the bookstore (I can find it if someone needs to know.) They thought she was insane (who would guess she was realized in thinking this??!!!). Later, she handed a fried fish to the one devotee (or Swamiji now) who was always a vegetarian. He refused to eat it then later began vomiting. His vomit smelled of fish though he had not eaten it. Amma told him to never refuse anything offered by a Realized person as it is prasad. This is true of all things-whether it is food or what is in our lives. Our Guru always provides what we need. And I cannot say what that might be for you since our relationship with Amma is a personal one. adriane Ammachi, "Tom" <tomgull wrote: .. > > My experience of the Swami's "awareness" and general Dharma is what > makes me question their status. > tom > >

Guest guest
I definitely believe that also! And that is based on total trust and faith in our Guru. We may have glimpses but we are not realized. So I was addressing Tom's questioning of the Swami's level of spirituality/consciousness. It is enough that Amma has them by Her side and has endowed them with the many things that they oversee. They work tirelessly. When Swami Dayamrita was here, he did spend time with us at IAM but he selflessly also stayed up very late with us, ignoring his own fatigue. I talked with the Western Swami-I cannot recall his name so sorry about that. I asked, How do you keep up with Amma all the time? He smiled and said, We DON'T!!! then we laughed. True there will always be some that avoid radar, but to think that one will never or can never is a belief that keeps one in Ignorance. By the end of Swami Nealu's autobio, don't you think he could tell who the flimsies were and who were genuine? Wasn't he hesitant about Ammachi in the beginning because he'd seen his share of those who go into samadhi? (I'll look for the quote) I was hestitant in a similar way because I'd personally experienced people who had the ability to "project love" (in my metaphysical days) to manipulate people. Discrimination. Viveka will show you, but you have to have some knowledge and awareness for such razor sharp discrimination. I've given enough examples of Dayamrita's lack of selflessness and his self centeredness to make my point for those who wish to see. And for those who think staying up all night or fore going rest is considered selfless, stop playing in the pee-wee league and step up to the majors, please. tom

Dearest Tom, I am not sure that I said that we never will or never can know someone's state of awareness. But unless one is fully Realized, knowing everyone's level of consciousness is not possible. If you see a man on the street, can you really determine his level of spirituality? Probably not. Being able to act selflessly and with love and live with discrimination-these are also things that only a realized person can do fully. We can continue to strive for this. But we will always make mistakes until we have reached the goal. However, I think I understand some of what you are saying. There are some who misuse their powers and take money. There are even some who are into drugs as well. There are many fakirs as I understand, in India. And I suppose anywhere in the world. But I have heard of this mostly from some of the Swamis who live in India,-that this occurence is common. So some skepticism is common due to this. Most of the Swamis had their doubts about Amma,-thinking oh, here is ANOTHER one! Amma revealed Her true nature. It is unmistakable. AMMA is the big league. I cannot lay that claim to myself. I can only hold onto Her feet. Meeting Amma puts us all on equal footing. We are all the same in Her eyes. > > I've given enough examples of Dayamrita's lack of selflessness and his > self centeredness to make my point for those who wish to see. But this is only your limited experience with him and your limited perception. I don't say this to bemean you but simply to point out that there is far more to Swami Dayamrita than you are aware of. He has worked tirelessly on many projects. I have had friends who also worked in San Ramon with him. He goes nonstop. Amma had put him in the position he is in. I trust in Amma and know that She does not make mistakes. You must have some karma with him. In addition, all things happen for good reason. There must be something more for you to get out of it than simply sharing your lack of respect for Swami Dayamrita. Our Guru makes no mistakes. Everything that is in your life is for a good reason-to help you obtain the goal. Since our relationship with Amma is personal, only you will be able to finally figure out what this lesson is for you. And for > those who think staying up all night or fore going rest is considered > selfless, stop playing in the pee-wee league and step up to the majors, > please. Well, dear one, this line really made me smile. Staying up all night- not partying-but answering questions and allowing us to ask a million questions when he must have been incredibly fatigued, I believe is quite selfless. I don't know of too many people who would stay up-not because HE wanted to, but because of the demands we placed on him. Most of us would simply say, You know, I am tired. Why don't we talk about this tomorrow?....Who of us would GLADLY and without complaint, just give of ourselves ignoring our own bodily needs? Not too many people would or COULD do this. And to answer the pee wee league..I actually love little league..it's innocence..kids kicking the dirt and just being themselves..totally caught in the moment not worrying about the future..just fully present...I am not so sure I that I am not trying to be a pee wee! I'd like to become as "pee wee" as possible since ego and anger are the greatest obstacles to knowing God. I wish I had some of Amma's "smallness". When She approached me while I held a coconut after the pada puja, I felt like a small child at a recital. I looked to Her and I realized She was coming straight for me!!! And I was shocked at how TINY She looked. She has no EGO AT ALL! She was SO SMALL..I felt tiny with her. Back to your statement and comments: I feel quite differently about Swami Dayamrita. His presence during our IAM program was nothing short of the Divine, Amma's presence permeated the atmosphere. Even my chidren, who were 18 & 20, who were not devotees-at the time,-felt his presence was something incredibly special and beyond comprehension of the mind when he came to our home. Their hearts were somehow touched-especially when they learned of the picture crashing! We hope to bring him for a Retreat in St. Louis. Not sure it will happen this year as the Tour is preparing to begin! May Amma always shower you with Her divine grace. in Amma's Divine Love, adriane

Guest guest
I've clipped only a small portion to respond to, but I'll add that I do recognize, that as Amma has said, only one who is Realized can know another. With the "right" discrimination it's possible to be able to make decisions, but as I do, I stand on them to experience the fruit of either right or wrong about them. It's why it's important to actually discriminate, rather than "feeling in the heart". Dayamrita's presence is a blessing many BEGINNERS, I'm sure of it. It's the difference between the fruits gained on the Regular Bus or the Express, like I've been on. And working tirelessly just means he's doing good Karma Yoga and doing his job as Director of MAC. You don't give someone an award for merely meeting their responsibilities. tom Ammachi, "Adriane" <a1driane wrote: Back to your statement and comments: I feel quite differently about Swami Dayamrita. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, Swami Dayamrita has been a great blessing to me. I appreciate his spiritual energy at satsangs, & also the questions & messages he's passed on for me to Amma. Admittedly, I am a beginner. I'm guessing that Amma is even more careful with Her babies, than Her more mature children, which shows that She must trust Swami Dayamrita a great deal. My heart leaped with joy as I read your post since it resonated so strongly for me. I feel like Amma's little baby. I truly have so far to go yet I know, with Amma, all things are possible! Guest guest
Tom, you aren't even sitting on the right line, much less regular or express. It seems you are taking the wrong express bus and getting further and further away from where you really want to go. Amma has surely showered us with Her blessings and LOVE to have him here in the States. your sister in Amma adriane Ammachi, "temba spirits" <tembaspirits wrote: > > let AMMAS sun also jump on this band wagon.when AMMAs sun was incarsararted, > brother Dayamrita made sure this child had his cell phone # and also > offerered to send him money.he sent this child over 20 books of AMMA in > every language from hindi to spanish.he sent this child blessed jewelry by > AMMA.he sent this child pictures and anything this child asked for.he wrote > inspiring letters to this child.this was ALL done by AMMAs grace.you all > call him swami.this child calls him brother. > > he has suppported every thing that AMMAs sun has done.he has never told this > child no.it s always yes.when he has said yes to me he has said yes to > hundreds of others.AMMAs sun just found out that he read the first letter > that this child had written in two satsangs.dayamrita has been a friend and > a brother to this child. > > AMMAs sun has even cried on the phone to him.dayamrita was there for this > child as if he was this childs brother and he still is. > > > >"Adriane" <a1driane > >Ammachi > >Ammachi > > Re: Tom: Swami's awareness and dharma > >Mon, 10 Apr 2006 02:45:03 -0000 > > > >Namah Shivaya Sweta, > >This is so full of sweetness and purity. Guest guest
I have always found Swami D. to be extemely warm and also accomodating. For some reason, I don't view him as a Swami, but as a big kid. My feeling about him was always that he tried his very best to listen to the differing views and be good to all the devotees, but that was a bit of an overwhelming task. Can you imagine trying to keep all the differing viewpoints appeased around the smallest things that we are all worried about. Once you are a Swami, so many people are trying to get your attention about their concerns. He seemed to be making a good humored attempt to do that impossible task. If you put yourself in his shoes for a minute or two, you can't hep but feeling compassion.
