Om Namah Shivaya

Dear Eric:

Thank you for the Amma quote:

"Do not judge things without knowing everything." -

This quote is from Awaken Children, Vol. 1 page 71

(I got lucky because I am not that well versed.

Ericiji, Here are some other Amma

gems on Judgement from that

Modern Veda "Awaken Children":

"People judge things according

to their mental dispositions

and tendencies which are limited.

Due to this limitation their

judgments are wrong most of the

time and they miss the essence

of things."

"A plant in which an ayurvedic

physician sees great medicinal

value is nothing but grass for a

person who harvests food for cows.

Likewise,people differ according

to their individual samskaras.

It is through the glasses of their

vasanas that each one views

and judges the world. The

color of the glasses differs

according to a person's

tendencies, but in all

people identification with these

vasanas is so strong that

they feel that their judgments,

and their judgments alone,

are correct."

Ammachi, Awaken Children, Vol.4, p3

Also:

"A devotee asks Mother why she

allows a certain person to come

to the ashram who, in the devotee's

opinion, is unpleasant and of bad

character]. "Son, God descends to

the earth for the sake of people

in ignorance. They need to be

transformed. How can you judge

someone when you yourself are

plunged in ignorance? Do you

know how much he regrets and

repents his past? It is people

like him that need the most attention.

When someone like that changes

for the better, it is of great

benefit to society." -

Ammachi, Awaken Children, Vol.4 p263

Ericji

- Did Lord Jesus say something

to the effect (I paraphrase)

Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged?

Peace,

GeorgeSon

When we avoid judgement, this seems open us to accpetance, which leads to Love.

Dear Sweta:

Acceptance is a very nice word, Swetaji.

Back in the 80's Werner Erhard of EST fame said:

"Things are the way they are, acceptance leads to

realization."

Does not Amma accept the fallen and wretched like GeorgeSon.

Did Amma turn me away for Darshan? If purity was a prerequisite

I would have been shown the exit.

She accepts us as we are. Like a compassionate Doctor Amma will not

berate us by saying"

"Why didnt you take care of yourself. I wont treat you. Get out"

She see's the light shining within us.

Amma sees us as Her reflection.

Vedanta teaches we are ever pure, ever blessed, ever free.

We are not the body, We are not our "supposed" sins.

All of that is just an appearance or mirage.

She see's us like we REALLY REALLY REALLY are.

If we have a few dents and an oil leak Amma does not

junk the car. Dents warts bruises?

Come to me is Her response. Come all ye heavy laden I will give you

rest.

We are Her children. Can a mother abandon even a naughty

delinquent Child?

Namaste

Dear Georgeson,

I felt that Amma really took on a big job, & would accept anyone, after she

accepted me. Then she even named me Sweta, which Sw. Dayamrita said means

purity, as in pure white. Once I offered Amma white flowers with little brown

spots, praying she would make me pure. Basically asking her to remove my brown

spots. She handed a large, perfectly while rose petal to me. Our Guru is so

powerful, she can purify anyone. Now it seems to be our turn to love & accept

everyone as they are.
