Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA Maa, this is interesting. once i read a book entitled Mystic Christianity and it said that from the time when Jesus was found by Mary and Joseph in the temple philosiphizing with the Elders at about the age of 13 to the time when he showed up about 17 years later at the place of John the Baptist, he went to India, Egypt, and Persia to study with different brotherhoods and orders there. the bible certainly does not confirm this but also doesn't really have specifics where he was during that period. maybe Jesus was really a yogi. maybe it is all really One. does anyone know more about this? Guest guest
You should read the Mystic Christ. It talks about non-duality and compares Christ teachings to Amma's teachings. He was probably born an avatar as I think the crowds gathered because he was giving darshan. I am sure he travelled about the East as well. I want to read more Gnostic writings sometime. AT a young age, he knew the scriptures without studying them....sounds like Amma and the Vedas. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, In 1979 I remember going to the Shivananda Ashram in San Francisco and seeing a documentary titled something like "The Lost Years of Christ" in which it detailed Christ traveling to India, how much the Indians loved Him, and they had a name for Him that I don't remember, I even think I later saw the same documentary on TV years later, but not sure. Anyone else remember this? Guest guest
In the book ‘The Lost Years of Jesus’ the author Elizabeth Clare Prophet showed proof that Jesus went to Tibet and there were records showing Jesus’ stay at the monastery and other documentary evidence of Jesus’ 17-year journey to the East. This is what I believe about Amma. Yogananda also said that he wanted to come back again and again to help others. I also believe that "we believe what we want to believe" and it really is optional; the main thing is "how does it help us with our attitude toward others and god?" and it's most important that our beliefs do not become dogmas( which are obstacles to god ). I also heard from one of Amma's devotees who Awakened to his own true nature that at the time of awakening all "concepts/beliefs/etc about who we/others are" are given up. hope all of above is not too confusing. sorry. amma's blessings, amarnath
