Guest guest
Mother is the embodiment of compassion and love externally She is in the form of the Master She resides in each one of us as the embodiment of love when we transmit love to someone else without a selfish purpose, at that time Amma is present; the divine part within us opens up what can we do when Mother is away to keep up spirit ? what can we do in return for what Mother does for us ? Amma says that She does not expect anything; the purpose would be defeated; just as Amma gives love, we can share love with others see others as part of your own self, not different from you see them as your own self that's what Amma wants; She doesn't want anything else all of us are honey inside a stone we don't know the sweetness of the taste only when the hard shell breaks, can we know it when our hearts are closed, we can't taste it when our hearts open, there is the sweet taste of honey everyone craves for love the more we give, the more love grows the more we expect, the more sorrow we get Mother knows our past, future doesn't expect anything from us when we give love, we feel Amma in our heart as a subtle presence when we close our hearts, we go away from Her Mother gives us so many opportunities try it tomorrow loving without any special purpose keep trying one day it will click try and Amma's Grace will slowly start flowing into us the more effort we make, the more Grace the effort is what counts Mother is so compassionate when She knows that we are making an effort to love others, Her Grace starts flowing naturally before we came to Amma, we have a constricted view love meant loving our parents, relatives, at most our friends a small, narrow view when we came to Amma, we started liking Her, then loving Her, then loving Amma's children once we know someone is Amma's devotee, there is a connection even if we don't know the person love expands out encompasses the whole world one day when Self-Realization occurs, one realizes what one sees outside is nothing but his or her projected self put effort; everyone can do it you may ask how can we do it ? some people we like, some people we hate everything happens because of preconceived notions or assumptions about a person stop thinking about other people (conceptions, opinions, etc.) start accepting that person as he or she is - that's when heart starts opening develop an attitude - don't think about how others are or should be try to accept them as they are they may have many bad qualities - so what? can find hundreds of negative qualities story from Mahabharata: Duryodhana - bad guy, Yudhishthira - good guy like conflict within us - good vs. bad qualities Duryodhana was sent out into the world to find one good person he came back to the master and said there was not one; everyone was bad Yudhishthira was sent out into the world to find one bad person he carn back to the master and said there was not one; everyone was good these two live within our hearts if we try to see the bad things, we will see only that if we try to see the good things, we will see only that another story: a devotee of Amma had a heart attack; his side was paralyzed he started cursing Mother why was this happening to him ? after a few days, he stopped thinking about himself he had thought he was the most important person on the earth then he had the heart attack and couldn't move a finger his heart completely opened up he saw people in a different fashion very difficult to go back to old way of being his heart was opened so that he could see things as they are, not as he thought they were keep your conceptions aside open your heart ~ She is Love Mother knows that She is Love, we don't know that we are this is the only difference between us we will feel Mother's Grace within us She will shine in our hearts Om Namah Sivaya, Talk by br. Guest guest
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful talk. I thought that these were your thoughts/feelings, Amarnath. Not until the end did I realize that it was Dayamritaji speaking. How sweet. How beautiful. How true. Guest guest
I needed this right when I read it! Thank you for posting this wonderful talk. I have just finished reading some really hurtful emails from my younger brother that are breaking my heart. I think he hates me! It has made me so sad. I love my younger brother. He called me many names and put me down. How do you handle such a thing? I am disappointed as I hoped to be close to him. But he also tried to tell me that my whole family hates me. LOL..maybe they do! But I don't think so. Maybe I should be writing Dear Abby. I am not angry with him, more sad and disappointed. That is all. I am glad I had this to turn to at this time. Guest guest
Instead of Dear Abby, perhaps you could write to Dear Dayamrtaji! Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, Swami Dayamrita's talk reminded me that the attitude of total love & acceptance, without judgement, is the place where I strove to be when I really tried to live as a Christian, & definitely felt God's Grace through those efforts. Thank you for reminding me that this is still what I want to work on.
