As he continued to pray, I felt a floodgate opening in my heart and I burst into tears. Then, without warning, the dog and cat ran over our feet, chasing each other-mine and Swamiji's! I was distracted and confused as the noise in my home rose to a crescendo with each recititation that Swamiji made. I wondered what was happening in my house that the madness increased with prayer!! The noise and chaos seemed to almost be swirling! I gazed up to Amma's picture and tried to refocus,-but with some difficulty. Suddenly, without warning, the picture of Amma in Devi Bhava, did not just fall to the low bookcase, it CRASHED HARD and VERY LOUDLY... Driving back to the program, I asked Swamiji, "So what was up with the picture of Amma falling?!" He gently said, "Amma is always with you. She is just giving you a sign to remind you." Later I went to the wall to see if there was some "reason" that the picture fell so violently to the bookcase. The hook was solidly in place. Amazingly, it the frame did not break...So now, I look at the picture and always remember how Amma is in my home. And there are times I am afraid to look because I don't know WHAT She will do next! LOL... Dear Adriane ~ thank you so much for sharing this incredible story. I know I sure wouldn't be ready if a Swami suddenly wanted to come over and use my computer. Yet, despite your worries, Swami accepted the situation and came, although the account is quite comical, which I think we sorely need sometimes (humor within our spirituality). The picture falling yet not breaking is quite amazing, but how wonderful to have it as a reminder that Amma is always with you.
