Guest guest
I saw someone else talk about relating an experience with Swami Dayamrita. I remembered...OH, I had one of those! I had something very incredible, very "mind" boggling! happen when he came to bless my home. Swami Dayamrita came to St Louis to teach the IAM program. He inquired if my home was nearby (it was held in a clubhouse in my subdivision.) He needed to use internet but I didn't have wireless. So he wanted to come over to print out some additional material for the program. I thought, oh no! My house was in total upheaval from being gone with a heavy work schedule. I was embarrassed to have him see this mess. Then another devotee told me to have him come over, that he would bless my house. They said just his presence would be a blessing to our home. I called my son on the phone and frantically told him to pick up the house. LOL..it didn't work...It is so funny to me now. Swamiji overheard me and said he didn't have to come over. But I said I wanted him to come over..and by the way, is it true you can bless my home? He said yes, he could do that. My head was spinning-partly from worrying about if he fell into the mess in my home, would we ever find him again and how would I explain losing the Swami? And my head was spinning because I was feeling a sense of unreality about the whole thing. I couldn't imagine a Swamiji would be in my home! I felt like Amma was coming over! During the break we made the very short drive to my home. As expected, chaos reigned. In fact, it was even worst than what my mind had imagined. Usually, the mind imagines things to be worst. Mine must have been in strawberry fields or something. I did not imagine THIS! My son had the sectional sofa apart "gaming" on the TV, the dog and cat were suddenly chasing each other and my other son had his TV on, also "gaming" at full blast. The house was, in short, on the edge of madness! The volume in my home was overwhelming. This, however, was NOT typical. My home was usually somewhat quiet. I wondered, what in the heck is going on?!!! Swami Dayamrita got on the computer and obtained what he needed. I then took him to the hallway where, at the time, I had my only public picture of Amma. I asked if I should have my sons turn the TVs/games off. He shook his head, and politely and quietly said "no, no. it was not necessary." So we stood at the picture of Amma and Swami Dayamrita began to pray some prayers that I did not know but somehow my heart understood. As he continued to pray, I felt a floodgate opening in my heart and I burst into tears. Then, without warning, the dog and cat ran over our feet, chasing each other-mine and Swamiji's! I was distracted and confused as the noise in my home rose to a crescendo with each recititation that Swamiji made. I wondered what was happening in my house that the madness increased with prayer!! The noise and chaos seemed to almost be swirling! I gazed up to Amma's picture and tried to refocus,-but with some difficulty. Suddenly, without warning, the picture of Amma in Devi Bhava, did not just fall to the low bookcase, it CRASHED HARD and VERY LOUDLY. There as no way it could have made that much of a racket for the very short distance it fell. My mouth dropped open and my eyes popped open wide! I stood stunned for a while. Swamiji glanced out of the corner of his eyes at me and grinned. I realized that he has seen something like this before. My whole body was suddenly vibrating with "aliveness" as though every pore was open. My hair felt like it stood up on end. It was like the whole atmosphere was full of electricity. Soon, my home suddenly became quieter, or so it seemed. I am not sure what really happened. Driving back to the program, I asked Swamiji, "So what was up with the picture of Amma falling?!" He gently said, "Amma is always with you. She is just giving you a sign to remind you." Later I went to the wall to see if there was some "reason" that the picture fell so violently to the bookcase. The hook was solidly in place. Amazingly, it the frame did not break. I don't know how it could not have broken, the crash was so incredibly loud and hard. There had been no vibration, no one had touched it. There really was no explanation. So now, I look at the picture and always remember how Amma is in my home. And there are times I am afraid to look because I don't know WHAT She will do next! LOL... in gratitude to my beloved Amma, adriane

Guest guest
Hi Adrianne, This is a terrific experience. Thanks for sharing. At satsangs in ATL, they normally put 1 flower on the frames of each photo of Amma or the other deities. Quite a few times I have observed that by the time the satsang finishes or sometime in between, the flower drops automatically to the ground for one or more of the frames. Bala said once that it meant that the deity was pleased with the offering on that day. Daring to take the same logic to this, I assume that Amma was so pleased with this offering that she decided to crash Herself as I presume there were no flowers atop the frame, or inspite of the flowers being atop of it! You are indeed blessed. I identify the emotions you described when this happened; these emotions are the only legacy we have that continue to inspire us on our march to the Supreme. Jai Ma! Guest guest
I have a swami story. When I went to LA to receive Amma's darshan last June, I didn't know any of the Swamis. When the morning program was over, I was doing seva in the coffee shop area. Just then, Swami Ramakrishnananda came in, looking a little tired. I went up to him and said "Thank you for your wonderful music." He looked surprised and said "Did I do OK?" When he said that, he was like a humble little boy. I said "Oh yes, it was so inspirational." He said "Oh good. I always try to do my best." It really touched my heart. It made me feel that most of us don't really know the Swamis very well. We don't know the extent to which they have surrendered their lives to Amma... and how they serve all of Amma's children. Guest guest
I have been to a retreat with Swami Dayamrita and the IAM program and it felt incredibly like Amma visited. You will not be disappointed! When Swami Dayamrita left after the IAM, we were all very saddened. I asked him why are we so sad after you had left. He said it is just because of your love for Amma. Yes, it was like Amma Herself had visited. We all felt it. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, I felt the same way after the IAM course, and it was in San Ramon. I hated to leave, cause it was like leaving after Mother is there. Even though the crowd was fairly large, we all seemed like old friends by the end. It felt like being immersed in Mother. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. Jai Ma! Prasadini Adriane wrote: > I have been to a retreat with Swami Dayamrita and the IAM program > and it felt incredibly like Amma visited. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, Thank you Adrianne for sharing your phenomenal experience. It helped my faith. I know of an experience when a devotee began regularly chanting Amma's 108 names each morning. One morning, at the desk where the names were chanted, the desk lamp audibly clicked off. Then the fragrance of flowers (roses?) entered the room. You are so fortunate to not only have the blessing, but the swami's confirmation of it's reason. Does anyone else want to share experiences that seemed to confirm that Amma is always with us? After being busy at work & school for many days, it's nice to read & post. Just one more, then I'll stop Thank you, Sweta Then another devotee told me to have him come over, > > that he would bless my house. They said just his presence would be a > > blessing to our home.
