Guest guest
Going with the heart: The root cause of the problems in the DC area satsangs, and the root cause of why so many spiritual aspirants go in circles. Reason: Amma never says give up discrimination, in fact she says the opposite, as many true gurus do. Discrimination, is a clear function of the Intellect (Buddhi). The main reason why people get stuck in the MIND/EMOTIONS of what they THINK is their heart, is because they think you're supposed to close your eyes and turn off your brain in spirituality. In Hinduism, at least, there's always been the break down of 5-elements/senses, Intellect (Buddhi), Manas (Mindstuff), and Ego (the I-sense; not just being "egotistical" as some western-influenced guru's will teach you). Love is more dynamic than pretty words, expressions, gushy feelings in your chest. My experience and understanding of Love is not limited to the dessert course, tom Ammachi, "amarnath" <anatol_zinc wrote: > > Dear Tom, Namaste, > > I hope your heart is opening perhaps just a bit to see how much love > and attention and prayers you are receiving from many of your > brothers and sisters.ary happened. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, There are probably as many different experiences, as there are people. But, here is part of my experience. Many, many years ago, when my main spiritual practices were praying & reading the bible, while trying to live & love as Christ taught, I was then seemingly blessed with more "sidhis" than ever. I didn't do much in the way of meditation, & my only tapas was probably a little fasting. A very small bit of seva was included. The main thing I recall is that I wanted to "live by the spirit" & "love others as my self, & God with my whole heart, mind & soul." I still remember the focus on the heart. I think if I would love that much again, then I would again have more "sidhis', although that isn't my goal. Since reading that Great Souls have said that God lives in our hearts, I've tried to discern things from my heart. I don't think this has ever let me down. While chanting my mantra, sometimes it's felt as if a slight preview has been given to me of the mind dropping into the heart, which Amma has also suggested. After Amma's gave me my first darshan, the one after effect I noticed was that my heart seemed to open. At least temporarily, I was loving everyone! It was wonderful. So, for me, following the heart seems to be the best way to live. Guest guest
And perhaps this really is actually going with the mind when all is said and done. And also of being tied into what the ego DESIRED rather than being truly "of the heart" in the purest sense in what Amma describes as real LOVE. As Amma says, we love someone because we want something in return. Can any of us love our husbands, children, family-anyone- without having some expectation? We all have an expectations from others. Pure love is what Amma gives us. Until then, we can only do what we do from our own limited levels of consciousness, from our own gross levels of imperfections. As far as circles, some of us chase our tails around and around for some time until we are able to have any inkling of spiritual understanding-such as myself. Haven't any of you gone thru, how much longer, how much longer before I know YOU, God?! How much longer, Amma??! How much? Quit making me chase you, Amma!.....! adriane Ammachi, "Tom" <tomgull wrote: > > Going with the heart: The root cause of the problems in the DC area > satsangs, and the root cause of why so many spiritual aspirants go in > circles. > > Reason: Amma never says give up discrimination, in fact she says > the opposite, as many true gurus do. Guest guest
we may be limited my dear sister, however ,AMMA can do LIMITLESS THINGS through us.ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH AMMA.SHE IS THE DOER.we have access to the LIMITLESS.the same AMMA that you percieve doing the miraculous is right there in your heart. we all have the capacity to be selfless.if we didnt AMMA would not have said so.AMMA IS POWERFULL and thus so are HER children.we wont jump in the ocean, that is why we keep thinking we can only do so much, or as we may say limited.it is a question of faith.the more our faith grows, the more our limitations decrease. JESUS walked on water and so did Peter, however when he began to focus on the waves(his limitations ) instead of HIS LORD ,he began to sink.sometimes we find ourselves walking on water and then instaed of keeping our focus on HER POWER ,we place our attention on ours and like peter we begin to sinc. the moral of the story here is to not focus our attention on our limitations ,but on the INFINITE LIMITLESS POWER OF DIVINE LOVE which dwells within us. with all love, your brother themba >"Adriane" <a1driane >Ammachi >Ammachi > Re: Going with the heart >Thu, 06 Apr 2006 03:31:00 -0000 > >And perhaps this really is actually going with the mind when all is >said and done.
