Guest guest
After seeing over 250,000 or maybe 300,000 people attending Amma's programs in India this year...what will happen here? Could we be seeing larger crowds in the states? I was hoping to use some frequent flyer miles to Seattle but all the flights were booked. Perhaps something will open up to go there,- it's meant to be. I booked a flight to Dallas since the airfare was very inexpensive and it was over a weekend. I hope more dates open for me to go to more cities- like Chicago. I am not sure I can take that much time off work due to $$ but we will see what happens. Guest guest
Namah Shivayah, I am wondering what the smallest retreats usually are? Someone once told me Dallas is the smallest (that is, small in comparison to others...which is still large!). So, where does everyone think the most intimate retreats, if any, are?? Jai Ma! Guest guest
Hi Ananthasree, I'm not sure if you mean retreats or programs. Dallas hosts a program but not a retreat. I believe the smallest retreat is probably Seattle, although I've never been to Santa Fe, so can't comment on that. In past years Seattle has had around 750, San Ramon around 1,000, LA 900, and Boston around 1100, if memory serves. These are the summer retreats; the November numbers are different. The smallest (and best!--right, Rick?) programs are in Iowa. That's my two cents worth. I never miss Iowa if I can help it. Quiet, rural setting; smaller crowds, composed largely of people who have been meditating for decades; nice facility, cheap dorm rooms and local hotels, Amtrak station a short walk from the facility. Did I leave anything out?

Dallas isn't a retreat. But Iowa is like a retreat, in terms of being smaller and more intimate, but cheaper. And it's on a weekend.
