Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA Maa, i agree that God/Guru is the doer but we also have a part in the "do." Amma says; "A passenger can be dropped in the station but he is the one who has to get into the bus and travel. The Guru will show the path. All the rest depends on the mind and effort of the disciple." if this is a satsang then nothing that takes place here is a coincidence, even as far as others emails being disturbing and/or it not being helpful to watch others fight. to me, that is where the belief that God/Guru is the doer comes in. they are all circumstances to benefit us, right? as far as i am concerned that drama is all Amma. it's Amma drama! Amma says, "Complete surrender and discipline under the Guru's guidance is needed. Isn't this a life of renunciation? It is not possible to get closer to God if there is no sorrow of some kind. Therefore, God will create some kind of difficulties through Mother. Having heated the iron in the fire, the iron smith beats it. It is not possible to beat it into a shape without heating it up properly. Reformation won't happen if the iron thinks, "I will not allow myself to be heated in the fire". The Guru will create obstacles and sorrows for the disciple. The disciple should overcome all that with intense sadhana. Spirituality is not for idle people. The difficulties of the subtle level are hard compared to the sorrows of the external world. There is nothing to fear for one who dedicates everything to a Satguru." and i have read what Swamiji says, but who disturbs our peace? Others or ourselves? below is a paragraph from a book about the mystical tradition of The Virgin of Guadalupe that seems right in line with what Amma may be trying to get across to us; "One of the practices of the Mystical Guadalupans relates to deeply contemplating the concepts of war and peace. They ask themselves questions such as "What areas of my life are at war? What areas are at peace? Is the peace alive, or is it the stagnant shell of a passive learned behavior that's slowly killing me day by day?" Peace isn't obedience. The presence of the Virgin in your life doesn't lull you into a state of passivity or complancency. If anything, she does the opposite. She peacefully empowers you to surgically remove every trace of fear from your being so you can take mature, directed and creative action in your life rather than floundering in reaction. The Virgin helps you to stop being a warrior who fights endless battles in other people's wars. She encourages you to become a special agent. An intelligence agent. You go right to the source and clean out disharmony from its roots until it's completely gone. There's no rush. The battle is over because it's already won. The important thing is to be completely thorough, to wipe away with love, caring, and compassion every last trace of the infection of scarcity, the wrong of selfish hartred and the man-made illusion of Earthly limitation forever." Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA Maa, coincidentally, the Amma quote of the day today is, "Peace is not the opposite of agitation. It is the absence of agitation. It is a completely relaxed and restful state." and like you say peace is accomplished thru sadhana. The Universe is a reflecting back to us, so drama is neither to be sought or avoided but transformed through spiritual practice. what isn't there can't be reflected. i don't really know much about lineages. i would say both Amma and Shree Maa are from the same lineage. The lineage of Supreme Divinity/Creator/Love. both trying desperately to reflect that Love back to us. i think through sadhana we can see it.
