Guest guest
For those who don't know, I think there's a listing on the FAQ of the Shreemaa.org site that lists the different "tribes" of sannyasins. For example, Puri (city) just means that the sannyasins are ones that reside in cities. Saraswati sannyasins are scholarly. There are others that live in the mountains, and so on. tom Ammachi, "manoj_menon" <ammademon wrote: > > Ammachi, Prajna - Brianna <prajnaji@> wrote: > > That is why it would be improper for Her to give sanyas, because it > has to be given by one of that line. Guest guest
Actually those are the original meanings, but have no bearing on today. This is just how the order is organized. - Tom Ammachi Friday, March 17, 2006 10:21 AM Re: Swami lines: Puri, etc. For those who don't know, I think there's a listing on the FAQ of the Shreemaa.org site that lists the different "tribes" of sannyasins.
