Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA Maa, i am relatively new to Amma yet i am found this direction helpful and even inspiring. it has shown me i can only worry about that which is within my control. namely me. and while sure its great to have comradery and fellowship, we are really on our own. i mean we all have to do our own work. and it's not always fun and blissful. only my own work(sadhana) will show me God. not yours or anybody elses. and sure i can get inspiration from Amma, but She won't do the work for me. no matter how much i would follow Her around. that much is evident. below are a few of Amma's words that seem to confirm this thought for me. my thanks to all you Ammas; "A real Master teaches you to accept everything that happens in life. He helps you to be thankful for both good and bad, right and wrong, enemy and friend, those who harm you and those who help you, those who cage you and those who release you from the cage. The Master helps you forget about the dark past and the bright future full of a thousand promises. He helps you live life in the present moment with all its fullness. He lets you know that the whole of Nature - everything, everybody, even your enemy - is helping you evolve and attain Perfection." "Presently, the intellect predominates and there is not enough love. Therefore, we must strive to empty the intellect of useless thoughts and fill the heart with love. That is the solution for all the distress and confusion of modern society." "It may be easy for you to love Mother, but that is not enough. Try to see Mother in everyone. Oh, my Children, don't think that Mother is confined to this body alone." "Children, Mother does not say that you should believe in Mother or in a God in heaven. It is enough to believe in yourself. Everything is there in you." "Children, simply loving the Guru will not destroy your vasanas. Our devotion and faith should be based on the essential principles of spirituality. Dedication of body, mind and intellect is necessary. The vasanas can be eradicated by cultivation of faith in the Guru and obedience to the Guru's will." "More vasanas come up as you do more sadhana. While sweeping a room, we can remove only the superficial dirt. Whereas, if the room is wiped with a wet cloth, more dirt will come out. In a similar way, more dirt will rise up when we do more sadhana. It is only for getting destroyed that they all rise up like that." "Real satsang is the union of the individual self with the Supreme Self." Guest guest
I love the quotations of Amma's words. That is what I find inspiring. I believe that God/Guru is the doer. Also, as Swami Satyananda says "nothing is worth disturbing your peace". I have found Tom's emails and some of Keval's disturbing. I understand why people are leaving this list. I don't find it at all helpful to watch people fight, especially about past situations or about people I don't even know. I come here for satsang. May it be so. What is the use of affixing superfluous stamps on a letter without writing the address?
