that. Let us feed on the positive energy of Amma, she would laugh at those who

leave. HEE HEE :)

All negativity is an expression of some inner pain, inner wound and

should be looked upon as a CRYING OUT FOR HELP, FOR LOVE. Similar

messages have already been posted by several members and we can find

this teaching among all great teachers including Amma.

So, this is just my two cents ~ another reminder.

If one of your children was acting out negatively, what would you do?

Tell your child to leave?

There is a quote someplace of Amma RESPONDING( almost sounding like

REACTING ~ sorry Amma )which was quite interesting. One "good"

ashramite was asking Amma why She allows another ashramite with

a "bad character" to stay. Amma basically said that the "good one"

who wants another( "bad one" ) to leave is "not really good" and

perhaps the "good(?) one" should be driven out. Of course, Amma does

not want anyone to be driven out but She wanted to make the point

clear.

Of course the person expressing negativity is not aware of his deep

wound and pain at the time. But, those of us who for the moment are a

little more sane, it would be good to remember above and instead of

REACTING immediately( due to our own inner wounds ) ~ take some time

to reflect, contemplate, talk to a friend, etc before RESPONDING

appropriatelly.

An appropriate RESPONSE could be:

1) Silence,

2) Prayer for the person and oneself concerning the negativity

3) Contemplation, meditation

4) Bring the situation into SILENCE

5) Perhaps an OFFLINE RESPONSE with good intentions of resolving the

conflict not of proving right/wrong

6) Learn not to be so sensitive ~ the world is full of negativity ~

and we ourselves are not perfect yet

7) Learn to look at all problems/negativity not as problems but

challenges for further spiritual growth ~ to look within, to bring

the situation into SILENCE, to offer some positive solution, etc

8) and of course, a post to all of us with a well balanced, well

intentioned advice is also good and i feel there have been many such

posts

9) i would also encourage those silent, innocent, simple ones who do

not normally post, to post more often ~ i find such posts refreshing

as compared to some of my own lenghty ones such as this. sorry !

Peace and Love with Amma's Blessings,

amarnath

may all beings everywhere be peaceful, happy and free from too much

bickering !

I would like to add an 11th response, which is to simply hold their

hand when they cry (or the email equivalent), by which you are

acknowledging their feelings and experiences without judgement,

denial, advice, shunning or ignoring.

Brahmachari Dayamrita wears yellow, which requires an initiation, I

believe. Sometimes brahmacharis (who have the 'last name' Chaitanya)

get another initiation as a Swami, or monk. The yellow step may be

omitted also, I think.

It won't be long before he gets orange, but truthfully the robe color is not the

point. Even if he was just in white, there is no reason to say those kind of

things about him, especially in a public forum like this.

And yes, yellow does require a formal initiation there, so Tom, you aren't equal

in that respect.

I believe that Amma has not initiated any of Her bramacharin/is into Swami-hood

in a long time. From what I hear, there are tons of bramacharin/is with Her in

India, but there have not been any new swamis or swaminis. I have a thory or two

about who may be next, but only Amma knows for sure! It seems like it is not

something She gives to just anyone.

Speaking of swamis, does anyone know where Swami Purnamritananda (Jedi Swami)

is these days? I heard or read that he is the head of one of the ashrams in

India. I really miss his presence on the tours.

Dayamrita was initiated into brahmacharya in 1995, I believe.

It is near the end of the U.S. Tour video tape for that year.

His head is shaved, so it doesn't (to me) really look like him.

It took me quite a while to figure out that it was he.

I was right there. It was very cool. He took it very seriously. It was in

Rhode Island. He is the first and only ever to be initiated into brahmacharya

in the U.S. Big Swami told me it was a great honor. Amma had him beg food from

a bunch of us, who had rice, etc., after he was initiated, as is the tradition.

His name was Raja Shekhar before that, if I remember correctly. He was a very

humble brahmachari in white when he arrived. People started giving him respect

right away and he was embarrassed by it and told everyone he was the same as

them.

Those were fun days...
