receiving mantra initiation

I may be wrong, but I believe Karunamayi only

initiates devotees with the Saraswati mantra (om aim

saraswatyai devyai namaha).

 

FWIW I received a mantra from another guru way back in

1992, several years before meeting Amma. Even though

I would now consider this guru my "yoga teacher guru"

rather than Sadguru (Amma would now fulfil the latter

category), soon after becoming Amma's child I decided

to keep my original mantra rather than ask Amma for a

new one. But I did ask Amma to re-infuse my old

mantra with her shakti, though it must have been an

unusual request for one of the swami's to pass on to

her :0

Not unusual. Hundreds of TM people have done this.
