Dear Pahari Maa ~ regarding the first paragraph, can you give me any help (on or off digest) in understanding the mase and the pakshe and the tithau and how one can figure it out using a calendar? Does one need a lunar calendar? (Easy enough to come by as most of the "women's" or "goddess" calendars are lunar based.) This has eluded me for over a year, and I would really like to understand. Also, regarding the weeklong celebration for Sri Ramakrishna. My family members have, for a long time, held to the belief of the week long birthday, or the two months long Christmas celebration. Though our celebrations (when we had them) had a number in their somewhere, that particular date was just the "excuse" for the celebration. Time is a convenience, as I believe GeorgeSon said, and most of us who are following a spiritual path have, as one of our goals, to, as The Incredible String Band put it, "live the timeless life." Also, if people are doing thing as a group, it really helps if everyone is on the same page. : ) My desire for knowledge, and my two cents worth.
