Guest guest
Hi all my name is val. ive just joined this group hoping to gain more knowledge about Amma. I stumbled upon something about Her online a couple of months back when i was typing desperate words into the search engine trying to find something that would help me cope with the pain of having a very sick mother (its difficult to even type that). i noticed Her but didnt . A couple of weeks later i was walking around at a book sale and my eye caught sight of a book cover with Her face...i bought the book, read it and have now ordered a few more books and items from Her shop..i feel Amma is the answer to my prayers for help however im unsure how to proceed from here.. I live in Melbourne Australia and plan to go to Her program in April- i want to tell my mother about Her and somehow get my whole family to read Her books but i dont know how to approach it without them thinking that She is just some other ordinary spiritual leader. I feel a growing admiration (even Love) toward Amma just from having read 2 books so far, so i really want to involve my family.. so that they too can feel Her Love.. my family needs this desperately. Any advice that you can give me will be great. Love to all Val
Guest guest
Hello Val, I am sorry you are experiencing so much pain. I, too, 'found' Amma through her books (specifically Path of the Divine Mother). I, unfortunately have not yet found a way to include my family, as I'm not sure how they would react. Actually, I'm pretty sure I know. Anyhow, welcome. I hope that this community is able to help you further on your path to the Mother. Guest guest
Dear Val It's wonderful that you'll have the opportunity to meet Amma. You can bring a picture of your mother, for Amma to bless her. You can also ask Amma to help you, with whatever you need. Amma's books sells vibhuti, (sacred ash) blessed by Amma, which is said to be good for our health. Amma gives it to sick people, when She gives darshan. As for our family members, they reportedly also receive Amma's darshan, when we receive it. When in Amma's presense, & chanting for the benefit of my son, Amma seemed to make eye contact with me. All glances from a mahatma are meaningful, so I took this as a confirmation that this was a very good thing to do. But, I think that the best thing we can do for our families, is to grow as much as we can spiritually. Like ripples on water, they'll be affected. Yogananada said that when we become enlightened, it helps our families for 7 generations, in both directions. You can also submit prayers to a link at Amritapuri.org, for which Amma has made aresolve. I've personally seen amazing results from entering prayers there. You go to "Amritapuri.org," then "e-services," then "lay at Amma's feet." Sweta vals_052 <vals_052 wrote: Hi all my name is val. ive just joined this group hoping to gain more knowledge about Amma. Guest guest
Dear Val, Hi. I am also in Melbourne and would just like to let you know that we have a satsang at our centre every Sunday at 6pm to 8pm. After satsang you are able to buy books, tapes, cd's, videos, photos, etc. The address for satsang is 250 George St, Fitzroy. It is in the grounds of a church. You would be most welcome.
