Dear Bela,

I too have an interest in ayurveda. The woman who holds our little satsang

here has a book by Dr. Vasant Lad,an ayurvedic practitioner. He has written

many books. I think the one I saw at her house was "The Complete Book of

Ayurvedic Home Remedies." Amazon.com has this available in paperback for $10.85

new.

They also carry two other books he wrote: "Textbook of Ayurveda" ($39.00

hardcover ~ must be a new one) and "Ayurveda: The Science of Self-Healing"

($8.76 paperback). I'll come back to Dr. Lad in a minute.

On the sidebar to the page about Dr. Vasant's books, I was very drawn to a

book, "Prakriti: Your Ayurvedic Constitution" by Dr. Robert E. Svoboda ($10.20

.... didn't say if it was paper or hardcover)

Dr. Lad has also written an ayurvedic cookbook, an ayurvedic herbal medicine

book, and even "Strands of Eternity," which I believe is a book of poetry.

It is worth visiting the Amazon page just to see the cover of this book. It's

beautiful.

Here's the link to the Amazon page:

If that doesn't work, just go to Amazon and do a book search under Vasant

Lad and it will probably bring up the same page.

Dr. Lad also works (and probably started) an ayurvedic institute in

Albuquerque, NM. Okay, everybody calm down. I can hear you all saying, well,

what are

you waiting for ... and get a move on. I would very much like to have a

session with Dr. Lad, and it is on my itinerary, but as it requires Doug to have

time off to take me, we will probably go get our stuff in Oregon first.

Here is the link to his institute, where you will find a lot more info, and

you can get back articles from his newsletter and if you like:

Enjoy ... I'll be exploring along with you, so perhaps we can compare notes.

P.S. Of course, if you do a google on the word ayurvedic medicine, you'll

come up with a whole lot of other stuff. I didn't do that because I already knew

about Dr. Lad and wanted to share that particular bit of info with you. :
