Guest guest
Dear Deepti, Your account of your experience in the Andes was incredible. I have always wanted to go on one of these trips ... usually the ones I'm looking at are shamanically oriented in that they are being organized by someone in the U.S. who is interested in and practices shamanism. Now the time has passed by for me to do this, unless I somehow become healthier. But it was wonderful reading about the, I will say similarities, between this ancient culture and India. (I can't find the right word to describe these discoveries because similarities or synchronicities doesn't feel quite correct. It really does appear that there was widespread global travel, with people from different cultures moving and then carrying their traditions to the place they had chosen.) This is a n amazing topic, and I'm glad we are discussing it because this has always been of great interest to me. I also really enjoyed reading about the glowing Swami and the vedic homa performed in the Andean mountains. Thank you ~ Linda P.S. I know I have mentioned the woman college teacher I studied ethnomusicology with. She was a shaman in her own right, originally from the Andean mountains. I had some incredible experiences working with her. >> This past May I went to Bogotá Columbia to study Satyananda Yoga and >> there was a wonderful ceremony high in the Andes Mountains where we >> had a Mayan elder perform a traditional fire ceremony, then Swami >> Niranjanananda lectured telling how the Mayans were called Nagas in >> India and had the same dress, traditions and even helped Krishna >> build the capital...after he lectured in the afternoon, he preformed a vedic >> homa under the full moon in May 2005 and evidently this event had been >> prophesized hundreds? of years before!...
