Namaste Linda,

Not sure, but perhaps the book "Daughter of Fire" would be good for

you to read. One renunciate at Amritapuri heard that Amma's approach

is somewhat similar that is in the book ~ but since Amma allows so

many approaches ~ perhaps for some it is so.

"Daughter of Fire" by Irina Tweedie is over 800 pages long; there is

an abridged version "Chasm of Fire" which is shorter.

Pray to Amma to see if you should read this book.

Amma's Blessings,

amarnath

I've heard so many people recommend "Daughter of Fire" over the years (both in

the Amma

satsang and in my former spiritual community, a Sufi order)....and I always

stayed far, far

away from it, because everyone I knew who was reading it seemed to be going

through

hell! Of course, I should know that correlation doesn't equal causation! ;-)

However, over the summer, when I was preparing to go to India, I finally felt it

was time for

me to get it. I started it on the plane to India, but had such an intense time

there that

reading it felt like too much! I have the feeling I need to take it in

sloooowly. ;-D

Much love,

Iswari
