I wanted to forward this on, from the Devi Mandir list. I felt it was

relevant to my recent post on feeling guilty over attachments and

activities. I also think that we can all relate to the cycle of getting

hurt, yet going back for more.

 

 

 

Here’s praying we can all break this cycle and eat only the sweetest of

fruits!

January 16 - Desire

 

Ramakrishna: The camel loves to eat thorny vegetation. As he eats, the

thorns cut his mouth, but still he goes on eating. Worldly people suffer so

much pain, but they go back to the same pleasures that brought the pain in

the first place. In this way, after each painful event the world of

attachment and desire continues.
