Peyote is certainly much stronger than marijuana. Both are "natural".

Dear everyone ~ well, at least we are not arguing, but I wonder if we might

change to another topic, such as, perhaps, the kinds of spiritual experiences

resulting from spiritual practices as given by Amma or other mahatmas.

When I learned TM, I was cued to dismiss visions, thoughts, feelings, etc.,

and just return to the mantra. However, when I was first initiated and given

my mantra and had my very first experience with meditation, I went in very

deep, and then "Iwoke up," and I wasn't in Kansas anymore. There was a deep

rich black all around me, stars, planetary systems. My first thought was where

in the world am I. Of course the answer was that I was not in the world.

Then I followed my cuing and returned to the mantra. But this experience showed

me with no doubt that I was more than just this physical body and that the

physical body was a vehicle that could carry me to oneness. Jai Ma ~ Linda

I think the point might be that many spiritual masters say different things.

Some might approve of using marijuana for various reasons/applications. Some

might not. But I do believe that our spiritual master, Amma, has clearly stated

Her opinion on the subject. We can either choose to listen to it or not.

Neither choice is "wrong". Maybe She would even change Her opinion for a

particular person, though I have not heard Her done so.

We don't have to agree with Amma. She will still Love us. We can agree with

Her and use it anyway. She will still Love us. We probably shouldn't do it at

the ashram, especially on the premises, and shouldn't go up for Darshan in an

intoxicated state. IMHO that would be disrespectful, if we know better. I have

heard Her make specific comments about people who were doing otherwise.

Medical marijuana is a whole seperate issue. Then we are not talking about

using something to have a spiritual experience. Still there may, or may not, be

better or at least alternative substitutes to that. IMHO, there is certainly

good evidence to support the use of cannibis and other mind altering plants for

medical uses. Amma may nor may not share my opinion. There certainly seems to

be other evidence showing that these things cause harm to the brain and other

areas. It is a difficult subject.
