Dear Kalika ~ I had a similar experience, though not around drugs. Mine was

more around what I would call Western Metaphysics, in which there are many

profound teachers and teachings. One occurred as I was reading a book, "Seth

Speaks," by a channeler, Jane Roberts. (I am not interested in whether anyone

does or doesn't believe in the material in this book, I'm just sharing an

experience.) The book was so powerful, that even picking it up, I would begin to

vibrate. And I had many powerful dreams. It was too much. The same inner voice

told me I was not ready. So I put the book away for many years, and then

eventually

I got it back out and read it, and a number of other Seth books.

 

Another similar experience occurred as a result of having out of body

experiences. In my early 20's, I began to have these quite frequently, and they

would occur more often in specific places (like my mother-in-laws home when my

hubby and I visited). Even though it was interesting, I didn't know how to

drive the bus, so to speak, so after a bit, I began to pray very hard for about

a month, "please take this experience away; I am not ready." And after a bit,

they stopped.

 

The funny thing about the second story is when later, having begun to have

shamanistic visionary journey experiences, I felt more comfortable about this

type of thing spontaneously happening (one time, had one riding the subway

home from work when I lived in DC). So

I started to pray, "Now I am ready, and very interested in traveling outside

my body." LOL

Apparently the One who is really driving the bus didn't agree.
