Guest guest Posted December 28, 2005 Report Share Posted December 28, 2005 Kottakkal gearing up for maiden Amritotsavam Staff Reporter KOTTAKKAL: The stage is being set for the maiden Amritotsavam-2006 to be held at Rajas High School grounds on January 6. Mata Amritanandamayi, popularly called Amma, will give darshan to all devotees who make it to Kottakkal that day. Mata Amritanandamayi Math, the organisers, expects a turnout of one lakh people. There will be free food for the gathering. Special vehicles are being arranged to carry devotees from different parts of Malappuram, Kozhikode, Thrissur and Palakkad districts. Seats will be arranged at the venue in a manner that will enable all the devotees to see the Mata. A souvenir, compiling all activities of the Math in Malappuram district in the past 15 years, Mata's message, and writings of eminent personalities and Mata's disciples, will be released on the occasion. On entering Kottakkal, the Mata will be given a reception by eminent personalities. Aryavaidyan P.K. Warrier, chief physician of Vaidyaratnam P.S. Varier Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal, will offer the Mata a `poornakumbham.' Minister for Education E.T. Mohammed Basheer, Minister for Cultural Affairs A.P. Anil Kumar, Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed and top police and civic officials will take part in the function. According to the organisers, the Mata will embrace all devotees.
