Guest guest
I woke up today feeling sort of alone and sad. Even though I haven't celebrated Christmas for years and my family has never respected my 40 years of Buddhist and Hindu practice, it felt sad to know that there would be no family celebration. I started my daily practice of mantra japa repeating my favorite mantras to Amma, Shiva, Kali and Durga. The sadness started to dissipate. Separation was moving into Unity. Then I came to the computer to read the messages of my brothers and sisters in Amma. I am so grateful to you all. You bring me Her Love. You are my family. How amazing cyberspace is! How amazing Amma's Love is... joining us all together. Now the day looks brighter. I moved to this remote mountain location to do sadhana. The letter of Amma's son in Coimbatore reminded me of that. What could be better than doing a beautiful day of sadhana in the forest? My deepest thanks, Pahari Maa
Guest guest
Dear Pahari Maa, Your story sounded so sad! I have many friends that are Jewish and Hindu that celebrate Christmas. Just a thought anyway. Can you be with your family or don't want to be? I have not read all the posts on here. You know what is in your own heart and what resonates for you. But it made me think of my friends who do celebrate all the same. They are such holiday hogs! LOL....anything for some cookies! lol.... I'm glad you got to do more spiritual practice. A remote mountain location to do sadhana. Wow! Where is that? Sometimes that is so tempting but I know my work is out in the big world of people-lots of them. peace to you and good will to all, in devotion to Amma, adriane Ammachi, Ardis Jackson <ardis1@v...> wrote: > > I woke up today feeling sort of alone and sad. Guest guest
Dear Adriane, My silent Christmas Day turned out beautifully. I turned to God and offered an Advanced Shiva Puja and a small Durga Puja. I felt surrounded by Divine Love. I could feel the presence of Amma and of my beloved Gurus, Shree Maa and Swami Satyananda Saraswati who taught me the pujas. I felt the presence of the family of devotees of Amma. Most of my biological family lives in the SF Bay Area or in Maine. I live in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California at 6,200 ft elevation (the same elevation as Darjeeling, India... a place I also love). I am so blessed to have been drawn to this place. The beauty of the mountains, forests, boulders, streams is almost too much to believe. The purity of air, water. The silence. The people who are drawn here seem to share interests in spirituality, creativity and preserving the land. Living here is the fulfillment of a dream I didn't even know that I had. (Thank you Gurus!) I really appreciate your caring nature and your willingness to share. Pahari Maa On Dec 26, 2005, at 11:11 AM, Adriane wrote: > Dear Pahari Maa, > Your story sounded so sad!
