We shall need all the prayers of Her devotees to make this move smoothly and to do well there. Yes going there will give us an opportunity to immerse ourselves, as you say, in Her limitless Love , seva and sadhana... Dear bala ~ so you are on your way! I am so excited for you. Are you still in the US, or have you already begun your journey to Amritapuri? How wonderful it will be for all of us to know we have another friend there. This move is not only a move from one point to another geographically, but also one point to another spiritually. While our bodies move eastward, I pray that our minds move inwards, and we serve Her with devotion... Dear bala ~ I am glad I finally had a chance to read your initial post about your move to Amritapuri. As others have said, were you not ready, Amma would have asked. I'm sure that most of us would give our eye teeth to be going to live at Amritapuri. I would be happy just to visit. I think whatever needs to happen in terms of your hearts and minds will evolve as you are around Amma. I know I keep bringing up this movie, "I Am Amma's Baby," but in some ways this movie has touched me more than any other, perhaps because of its childlike innocent approach to very heady topics. Raj, the baby elephant, was called by Mother, or somehow arrived at Amritapuri. It was wonderful to watch the few scenes where Raj appeared to illustrate the points he was making in his presentation. The movie shows Amma teasing and playing with Raj, offering him food and then pulling it away. The movie showed Amma doing the same with devotees during Darshan...perhaps teaching patience, but also playfulness, and to let go of the ego and not mind looking like a fool as you chase Amma's hand with the food. Raj was also shown all "dressed up" for special events. I am sure that Raj is probably grown up now, but Amma certainly used him well in this movie. One thing that really hit me in the movie was Raj telling the ABC's of being a devotee. The first is Amma's Baby Crazy; then Amma's Baby Curious; then Amma's Baby Clear; then back to Crazy ... and the cycle may repeat many times until the devotee gets to the end of the alphabet, where Z means Amma's Baby Zero. We become zero, completely egoless, and at that point, as Raj says, we are nothing and we are everything. I am only borrowing this movie, but I am going to have to buy it as it is now one of my favorites. Perhaps when you get to Amritapuri, you can let us know if Raj is still there and if he is a grown up elephant now. : ) I am sure you will have many opportunities to go through this ABC cycle, yet each one brings you closer to the goal, and how wonderful to be able to directly serve Amma. I have thought if I were not ill, I would go to Amritapuri and ask Mother what I could study to be of selfless service. I have often thought I would like to work with the ill, but that doesn't appear to be in the cards for me this lifetime. I know you will have a wonderful, exciting journey, and then when you arrive the journey will continue, but how very wonderful.
