Guest guest
Namah Shivayah, Themba just mentioned a Stevie Wonder song, and in the effort of steering the conversation back to love and all things Mother....can we all post some non-bhajan songs that remind us of Amma and her teachings? This was touched on briefly a few months ago, and was a lot of fun. I will start with a Leonard Cohen song that always reminds me of Amma. If It Be Your Will If it be your will That I speak no more And my voice be still As it was before I will speak no more I shall abide until I am spoken for If it be your will If it be your will That a voice be true >From this broken hill I will sing to you >From this broken hill All your praises they shall ring If it be your will To let me sing >From this broken hill All your praises they shall ring If it be your will To let me sing If it be your will If there is a choice Let the rivers fill Let the hills rejoice Let your mercy spill On all these burning hearts in hell If it be your will To make us well And draw us near And bind us tight All your children here In their rags of light Jai Ma!! Guest guest
That is a wonderful one! I have always loved that song, and now I think I love it even more. Someone in this group posted this song before, and it always stuck with me. It is an old, upbeat song turned even more meaningful when applied to our beloved Mother: I thought love was only true in fairy tales Meant for someone else but not for me. Love was out to get me That's the way it seemed Disappointment haunted all my dreams. Then I saw her face Now I'm a believer. Not a trace Of doubt in my mind. I'm in love, I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried I thought love was more or less a given thing Seems the more I gave the less I got. What's the use in trying All you get is pain When I needed sunshine I got rain Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer. Not a trace of doubt in my mind. I'm in love, I'm a believer I couldn't leave her if I tried... Jai Ma!
