Guest guest
Om Namah Shivayah My humble pranams to all of my brothers and sisters in Amma I wish I had the time to keep up on this list, but these recent days have been SO SO busy for us. My husband started his new job on November 28th (JAI MA!) We waited patiently and impatiently for THREE years for this job to come, after Amma told my husband specifically to be patient. It is such a blessing that he has such an opportunity, and he is a changed man for the better. He's confident and secure and feeling smart again, things I haven't seen for quite some time. It's amazing what one open door can do for a family. I have also found a new job in Syracuse, NY and will be joining my husband the weekend of the New Year. Our movers will be here on the 29th. Everything is falling into place, slowly but surely. It's SO overwhelming to plan an interstate move (particularly on such a tight budget) but even worse because my husband has been in NY and I have been in MI. Even though I was here in MI while Amma was also here, I missed her programs entirely. I had a pretty severe case of sciatica, which caused me intense amounts of pain. I couldn't bear the thought of sitting in the car to get to the place where the programs were being held. Missing Amma's programs here in my hometown really has brought me an even stronger feeling of LONGING for her, which in and of itself is a blessing. I am hoping to connect with a couple of devotees I have found in the Syracuse area, after things get settled... I am hoping that all is well for everyone and that the new year brings peace, joy, and much much love to each one of you. Guest guest
Namah shivaya Erica Once again let me express my happiness at your husband finding a job ... I wish you both all the best in your move.. and to all the list members- I humbly request your prayers- we are also going to move- TO AMRITAPURI ! Amma has asked me to come and work in the engineering college there. I shall give you updates from there , and we are both excited and ,a little bit nervous, about what is going to be the BIGGEST move of our lives. I humby request your prayers and blessings that we do well there, and follow our beloved Amma's instructions to the core and become steady disciples . Transitioning from being a part time devotee to a full time disciple is a tough job. This move is not only a move from one point to another geographically, but also one point to another spiritually. While our bodies move eastward, I pray that our minds move inwards, and we serve Her with devotion. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Bala, This is so exciting. A friend of mine spent a lot of time in Amritapuri last year, and the change in him is amazing - all the way around. I'm sure that you will do well and will be a great full-time disciple. I have always looked forward to your posts, and will be looking for them in the future. You have been given a wonderful gift by our Mother. You will be in my prayers - but I'm sure you will both be doing very well. What Grace! Guest guest
Dear Pahari Ma, Thanks for your kind words and prayers. We shall need all the prayers of Her devotees to make this move smoothly and to do well there. Yes going there will give us an opportunity to immerse ourselves, as you say, in Her limitless Love , seva and sadhana. I was born and brought up in india, moved to the US for my grad school and have been working here a few years. So india will not be strange to me, yet there will be a major adjustment in going back after all these years. With Amma's grace, everything will work out. Thank again for your good wishes, bala Ardis Jackson <ardis1 wrote: Dearest Bala, What a blessing to be able to live in Amritapuri especially at the invitation of Amma. Guest guest
Dear Bala: Your humility displays qualification. The greatest words I could ever hear would be "Son, come to Amritapuri to work for me" I am beyond jealous. This is the penultimate accomplishment for a Jiva. We incarnate here to engender a long shot chance at Amma finding a use for us in Her Divine Mission. Underachievers and below average Jiva's like this son have to wait out on line among countless job applicants. This is my firm belief. Please think of me in Amma;s presence now and then. I am proud of you and know from our friendship that you are eminently qualified. If you were not Amma would not have asked. Guest guest
Dear Bala, what grace! I dreamed about Amritapuri last night and hope Amma will call me back there to visit again before too much time passes....Safe travels to you and please keep writing from the ashram, when time and those crazy computers permit! =) Namah Sivaya, Iswari Ammachi, balakrishnan Shankar <balakrishnan_sh> wrote: > > Namah shivaya Erica > > Once again let me express my happiness at your husband finding a job ... > > In Amma, > > bala > > > Erica <sugarandbrine> wrote: > Om Namah Shivayah > > My humble pranams to all of my brothers and sisters in Amma > > I wish I had the time to keep up on this list, but these recent days > have been SO SO busy for us. Guest guest
Dear George Please dont underestimate yourself. You are not "a below average Jiva", whatever that may mean.. there are no "below average jivas".. All of us who have met Amma, and have been blessed to have been able to open ourselves in some measure to accepting Her as our Guru, are some of the luckiest people in the history of mankind. Also, physical proximity need not be an indication of "qualification" or "advancement". A person may have been called to Amritapuri, and you may be here in the US, but yet you could be much closer to the Inner Mother than he is. I think Amma is calling me near there, not because I am fit, but because I am unfit! It is the sickest patient who needs emergency medical care! In any case, thanks for your kind words. Having met you, I know that you are a wonderful human being ... I shall cherish the memories of all the devotees I have met here- and I hope i can see you every once in a while on the summer tour. bala leokomor <leokomor wrote: Dear Bala: Your humility displays qualification.
