Dear Jyotsna and Rick ~ very true, but consider the manner of death. It may

be terrifying, painful, or it may be in the arms of family and friends, or in

the cold anonymity of a hospital. Whatever we experience at these times is

certainly real, up until the point where we go "into the light." Immediately,

all the pain of the moment or of the life are gone, bathed away by the Love

that emanates from the Light. Some people, though, are confused when they cross

over because they die suddenly, unexpectedly, or violently. In these cases,

so I have read or heard, people may sleep for a long while, but there are

always "helpers" (angels, guides, ancestors, etc.) waiting to assist them the

moment they are ready.

A good resource on this is Dannion Brinkley and the movie about his Near

Death Experiences. He was electrocuted and was out for longer than should have

been possible for someone to come back from. He was the most hated person in

his town. He beat up people; he scared people; he was a very mean guy. After

his time on the other side (which was mere moments of our time), he experienced

the Love, he reviewed his life, but surrounded by Love, while he felt every

single feeling all the people he hurt had ever felt. He changed ... not right

away, but gradually, as he recovered. He discovered that he had psychic

abilities, but his old buddies wanted to use him to go bet at the track.

Initially, he went along, but eventually, he realized this was not what he was

supposed to be doing. He was very confused by his own change in personality and

by

how people who had hated or loved him, could not take the person he had

become. The Movie, "Saved by the Light," as well as the book of the same name

chronicles all of this.

At one point he was fortunate to attend a lecture given by Raymond Moody, a

university professor who was studying NDEs. When he asked if anyone in the

audience had had one, Dannion raised his hand, but when Moody invited him to the

stage, Dannion turned and left. Moody was not to be deterred though, and he

found out where Brinkley lived and when right to his front door. Brinkley

would still have nothing to do with Moody, but Moody left his business card,

and

eventually Dannion did contact him. Moody helped Dannion make sense of his

experience, his first as well as his second NDE, and supported him in doing

the work the "helpers" on the other side had shown Dannion he was to do. He

created the first of his healing centers at the University of Virginia, where

Moody taught. Now, Brinkley spends his time working with hospice patients,

helping them to understand there is no need for fear.

Many paths to the same experience, as our friend "D" showed by sharing his

experience with the young people at the shopping mall. Love is all around us,

and every moment carries the possibility for Love, for Healing, for

Enlightenment. Jai Ma ~ Linda
