Namah Shivayah,

I was previously a member of the Amma Satsang, an inspirational and

compassionate online satsang devoted to my beloved mother Ammachi.

It seems that it has moved and has been replaced by the Judgemental And

Sometimes

Cruel Opinions Stated As If They Were Facts Forum.

I am looking forward to the Amma Satsang re-appearing.

On a similar note, I am curious as to why this thread has not had the kibosh put

on it yet.

Heaven forbid someone comes in here talking about animal rights, George Bush or

politics...but racism is OK? I have a million things to say about all of these

subjects, and I

can rant and rave about them until the cows come home...but not here. I have

been

tempted so many times to respond to these posts with a book length treatise

containing

all of my opinions on racism, as well as point/counterpointing with all of

you...but this is

not the place for it, especially when it gets cruel. Can we move it over to a

devoted to debating racism?

There is an ego battle going on in the Amma online satsang. I find this a bit

ironic. I also

find it a bit comical the way everyone is carrying on with opinions as if their

personal

opinions are facts.

When I read Tembas posts, I can see Ammas words in action. I, on the other hand,

am

losing patience with this thread and becoming very disheartened and disappointed

at the

lack of respect going on here. There are a lot of lurkers on this board...people

who

consistenly read the posts...and heaven knows how many of these people have been

offended or felt personally attacked by the cruel and lacking in compassion

comments

made here.

Can we please....for the love of the Divine Mother...THINK ABOUT what this group

looks

like to someone who may just stumble upon the recent posts in search of an

online Amma

group??!! Is this the kind of impression that we want to make on the inquisitive

person

who has never seen this group before and maybe JUST HEARD of Amma yesterday and

is

anxious to find out more about her and her devotees. Maybe it is someone living

in a

project, or in section 8 housing, or someone on disability and they are going to

come here

and hear that they are taking "handouts" or they should "go get a job" or maybe

a Katrina

victim will stumble on this site and read that "racism is not running rampant in

this

country" stated in a cold and inconsiderate manner.

We are her children. What kind of impression do we reflect onto our Mother to

those who

do not know her by behaving in this way? When she says to become like children,

she

means to have the innocence and compassion of a child...and there is a big

difference

between that and acting childish.

I totally agree with Tembas last post, but I also am fed up with checking this

group for

inspirational glimpses of my Mother and coming up with ego, bigotry, semantics

and

attempts at one-upmanship instead.

I'm glad someone stood up and said this. I just delete almost all the posts

immediatly these days, without reading them, and never bother to make any

comments any longer. Still I hang on to a hope that things will change...one

day.
