Dear Bela ~ to make a complex subject simple, one of the most elegant meditation techniques I know of if the MA OM meditation, which came from Amma long before the IAM meditation. I can't speak to the second because I haven't been trained in that one. But the MA OM is very simple. You sit quietly, with eyes closed. You don't even have to say the MA OM outloud ... as you repeat over and over on the inside, it becomes more and more subtle until "you" disappear. This is very similar to my experience with TM and some of my experirences of deep connection to the Divine, of knowing I am a soul and not just a body, came from that similar, very simple technique. The MA OM will connect to the inbreath and outbreath very naturally. If thoughts come, you let them pass like clouds. You don't try to push them away; you don't try to hang on to them; you don't worry about them ... they are bubbles of stress or vasanas being released. There are two very good tapes by Big Swami, where he gives you the method of doing this meditation. One is a single cassette. I have that one. Then there is a two cassette version. I don't know anything about that one, but I am sure it would be just as good. During one of Amma's tours, Big Swami taught this technique to the whole group. It was so beautiful. Anyway, it can't hurt. : ) Love ~ Linda
