It is also confusing the a person includes not only the post they are responding to, but the post(s) before it. Sometimes I can't find what the person wrote at all. When I highlight text to refer to what I am responding to, on the email I am writing, it appears with a nice blue line next to it. Very clear. However, I just realized that when they get posted back to the digest, the blue line is gone. So I am going to use >> from now on to indicate what I am responding to. I kind of like knowing what a person is responding to before I read their post, but we could all select a brief amount of the text instead of the whole post, and we could delete posts that are previous to the one we are responding to. And then, of course, we could use the >> to show the post we are responding to. I'm not sure that people will change the way they post by putting the post they are responding to after their response. They may feel as I do that it is important to at least briefly reference the post. Now my brain hurts. Hopefully your request will cue all of us to at least only copy the part of the post, or the heart of the post, to which we are responding, delete previous posts and use the >> to show the post we're responding to. And I hope you don't leave the group. Jai Ma ~ Linda
