Good background: * Peggy McIntosh¹s groundbreaking article on White Privilege http://seamonkey.ed.asu.edu/~mcisaac/emc598ge/Unpacking.html * The movie Crash (the most nondualistic, Hindu feeling film this child has ever seen.) * The video ³Color of Fear² www.stirfryseminars.com/pages/coloroffear.htm * The video ³The Way Home² by Shakti Butler www.edchange.org/multicultural/reviews/f-thewayhome.html * A soon to be released video by Shakti Butler about White Privilege * The PBS series on slavery and the making of America. www.pbs.org/wnet/slavery/ Dear premarupa ~ thank you so much for sharing the dialog going on in your school system, and I agree, despite the fact that many people think the "problem" of race has been dealt with (after all, do we not have Condaleza Rice in a very powerful government position? ARK, ARK). And thank you so much for sharing all these resources. I just saw "Crash," and it was an incredible movie. The way it was filmed was interesting also, being discrete vignettes that only came together at the end. (And I love Sandra Bullock.) I am getting into our digest discussion on this a bit late because, as I told temba in my response to his post, I have been sick again and am three digests behind. So PLEASE, everyone ... send PRAYER REQUESTS to my personal email: _Nierika_ (Nierika) , otherwise, if they are in the digest, I may not get to them in time to put them on the list. This conversation, and the healing, needs to continue ... never has it been resolved, only in many ways has gone underground, so to speak. I am glad the group is getting its teeth into such a sensitive issue. Jai Ma ~ Linda
