Bridge of Sorrow

Sorrow, my children, is the teacher

that brings you closer to God.

It is God who creates the sorrows

and obstacles in a seeker¹s life.

God employs selfish people as instruments

to make the seeker suffer.

A truly spiritual person views suffering

as a blessing‹a bridge to God...

Dear premarupa ~ thank you so much for posting this poem. It touched me

deeply. This morning Doug took my face into his hands and told me how worried he

is about me because I wake up every morning, so sad, so depressed, trying to

hide the tears. Most of this is about the unhealed rift in my family and my

knowing that I will never have closure with my Mother, and also living the

effects of my own spontaneous response to take care of her when I gave away all

the money my father had sent to me. I feel so lost ... and it is this group,

and the things we share that helps keep me from falling over the edge. This is

truly a beautiful poem, and I will save it, tape it onto my refrigerator as

a reminder that there is a reason for everything, and to turn my tears

outward and cry out to God. Blessings ~ Linda
