God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us g o through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful! God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can Live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart. Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance. Dear Rick ~ loved this whole cake metaphor and the way you told it. I especially love the last three paragraphs. When my mother used to make cake, first she would let me take a spoon and scoop the leftover mixed up stuff off and eat it. Yum ... but as you say, any of the items separately would have been truly awful. Same thing with icing ... well, butter is good all the time, all by itself, but you have the butter, and then you have powdered sugar, which really isn't all that much fun to eat on it's own, and then you have a little milk, which, by itself too is basically okay. But when you mix them up and create icing ... wow. It used to make my ears tingle. And my mother would let me do the same thing with the icing bowl and the mixers. What fun. And very often that part was even better than the cake itself when it was finally all done. And we might as well dance ... thank you so much ... what a wonderful, hope filled, life affirming thought. It was just something someone sent to me which I forwarded.
