Dear Linda,

I can't speak for the Devi Bhava, because I haven't been able to go to

one in years. I certainly in my whole life, even when I was very

healthy, have not been able to stay up all night. So I don't know how

most people manage to stay in the hall all night.

As for the programs and getting a token to get a token, they told us to

come back at a particular time, which was several hours hence. So you

would have time to go to your room to rest and then go back and check on

your token. As much as Mother wants us to spend as much time as we can

with Her, I don't think She wants us to make ourselves sicker. Another

option is to see if you can have someone check on things on your behalf.

I have seen some of the very sick people be taken care of by others, but

those are the people with the visible disabilities. You never know who

is disabled and who is not. The token people can only give tokens to

each individual. They won't let my husband get one for me, for example,

because they don't want to give out tokens that aren't then used.

I have not tried to make arrangements before attending a program, but

you might try to see if you can get in touch with someone at the Sante

Fe ashram and speak with whoever is in charge of the hall, or whoever is

in charge of special needs, so you can give them a heads up, and so you

know more about what to expect.

The situation is difficult, but it is doable if you stay in the same

hotel.. Also, I have never been able to fully participate in Mother's

programs, so I don't know what I am missing! I pay to go to a retreat,

and then attend maybe a third of it, but I get a lot out of it.

Hugs,

Prasadini .

Though this may change in the future as more people

come to Amma, currently you can still pretty much

guarantee yourself a proper token if you arrive prior

to the start of the program. Even on the last crazy

Saturday night at San Ramon, my token number was

201-300, and I did not arrive until about an hour

before Amma.

If you are unable to stand in line for a token before

the program, you might find where you would have been

in line based on when you arrived, clear it with the

people at that spot, and only join them when the line

begins to move. Or perhaps they could get the token

for you. This year I saw that a number of people were

able to get tokens for other people in their group who

were not in line. I can't say if that was the norm,

but it did happen a number of times.

The special needs chairs are still there and available

for the people who need them. I have CFS and some FM

symptoms, and though most days I can get by without

the chairs, there are those days when I cannot. So

far I have never been turned away from sitting there.

I have also always been able to go up for darshan

early if I needed to (for health reasons), via the

special needs section.

You're still safe, Linda!

Love,

Romi

You can lead a horse to prune juice, but you can't make him drink it...
