I'm looking for a title of a book about Krishna published by

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. This particular book emphasizes the human

skills and talents of Lord Krishna as a ruler, politician, soldier,

and so on rather than his oft praised divine qualities.

Dear Aikya ~ I googled Bharatiya's full name and came up with only sites

about schools and study courses, and none of them had anything about Krishna. I

also checked all my best book websites: Amazon.com, Half.com books. Xlibris,

BookFinder, and Alibris. Would another book about Krisna do?

When I did a search just under the name of Krishna on Amazon.com, I came up

with quite a few that looked good, but none by the author you mentioned. Here

are some of the titles and info.

"Dance of Divine Love ~ India's Classic Love Story: The Rasa Lila of Krishna

by Graham M. Schweig

"The Play of God: Visions of the Life of Krishna"

by Vanamali

Brief synopsis:

"Just as the call of Krisna's heavenly flute is irresistibly attactive, so

this boook will enchant and uplift its readers. Never before has the complete

life of Krishna been told in a way that is so engaging and understandable, yet

so faithful to the ancient epics of India. Spiritual seekers of all

traditions will find inspiration and revitalized faith in these pages. "The

Play of

God" presents Krishna, the playful and enchantingly beautiful Deity who

embodies the hightes truths of Indians spiritual wisdom. Readers will find here

powerful visions of God as child, playmate, friend, and teacher..."

The author is a contemporary Hindu comtemplative and teacher, lives in a

small ashram in Rishekesh...her writing conveys the universal wisdom of the

Himalayan sages.

Another: "Journey Through the Twelve Forests: An Encounter with Krishna"

by David L. Haberman

I believe the first was hardback, and the other two were available in paper.

There were many others ~ 442 hits or so. If you go to Amazon.com and go to

books and to Advanced Search, and then just type in Krishna in the "subject"

line, it will bring up all these books. Of course you have to skip past the

ones from the Hari Krisha Organization and about them, but there were many

books

that looked very interesting, including these three.

Please see http://www.bhavanus.com/store.htm for Bharatiya Viyda

Bhavan's US book distribution website. "Bhavans" is a very well

known book publication and distribution company in India which has

brought out many outstanding books, including fine texts for

children's education, in English. As some may have found with other

areas of exploration, a good children's book is also outstanding for

adult beginners. Anyone out there is the Amma universe who is not

familiar with this publisher, I can enthusiastically encourage you

to explore their offerings.

Dear Aikya ~ I finally figured out that Bharatiya Viyda Bhavan is not a

person, but a distribution company. LOL When the question first came up on the

list, I kept looking under the name as if this were a person. No wonder I

couldn't find anything. Glad you were able to provide this. Jai Ma ~ Linda
