Guest guest
Brahmachari Shantamrita Chaitanya gave a satsang on stage with Amm a few years ago in San Ramon. He quoted Amma's use of the phrase "unseen hand: The Brahmachari said: "During Amma's Japan Tour, I am always under a lot of pressure to get the Japanese translation of Amma's satsang ready each day in time for the evening program. One day, during the tour about five years ago, the pressure was really mounting and I was far behind schedule. On top of this, I couldn't find a "proper" place to work. No matter where I set down the lap-top computer, someone would walk into that room and start talking in a loud voice or ask me a question that seemed terribly trivial at the time. I became increasingly grumpy and hot-tempered, and my mind was seething with negative thoughts as I typed Amma's words. "We are all individual beads strung on the same thread of life-energy." Why is everyone bothering me while I'm trying to work? "Strive to see the same Divine Light of Consciousness in each and every being." I can't believe these people! Then, an unsuspecting and innocent person entered the room with an important question about the stage decorations. I had reached the end of my tether. I just exploded and roared at him until he turned around and left. I turned back to the computer to type the next sentence: "Never lose your temper under difficult situations. Always remember that each experience is brought to you by the unseen hand of the Guru, for the sake of your spiritual growth." I couldn't even finish typing the sentence. Amma's message to me was clear. What could I do, but acknowledge my total failure to imbibe the meaning of the very words I had been typing for hours together? I was supposed to be the one delivering these precious teachings of Amma, yet in the heat of the moment, all my superficial mental composure evaporated in a big puff of steam." Namah Shivaya, GeorgeSon P.S. Guest guest
GeorgeSon- I appreciated this one so much. Being so impatient is something I, too, struggle with time to time. And like the bramachari, when I'm working on something, I HATE to be interrupted and like her, kind of go crazy!!! What a great story for me. In fact, I just had a blow up tonight over a wrong shipment I received. And then I read this. Then it "dawns' on me... oh, I just had my own little explosion tonight!!! oh dear!!...sigh!....so much work to do still.....You go for a while and think you are getting "better" in some way..then you are reminded on how far you have to go! A looooong way, baby! (at least for this one!! sheesh!) The way in which the bramacharis and swamis share so much of their own inner struggles with us through their writings is such a gift! There they are just laying out all of their flaws and weaknesses for everyone to see through their writings. When will you come, Krishna, when will you come?
