thanks for the post on the KD kirtan. i always seem to get

something from your posts...so far be it from me to discourage your ongoing

analysis. but i would like to make an observation from my

experience. the name of God is God. however you do it seems to be

irrelevant so long as it an expression of your Love for God. and

benefits are based on an individuals perceptions and can't be

compartmentalized. singing is like any other form of art form which

is meant to come from the heart not from egoic rules of the mind.

it is simply an expression of the feeling of Love for Creator from

the depths of your soul.

Dear ec ~ Oh, what you wrote here is so true, whether you are singing a

bhajan or other type of song. When my singing has "felt" the best is when I have

dropped all my ego concerns (is my voice sounding good? Does the audience like

my music? Why is that person swaying the turn and that one is looking

asleep?, etc.) One other thing I wanted to share, re the issue of people

asserting

they are gurus, Krishna Das only calls himself a "kirtan walla" (one who

sings the names of God). And he's a very good one. Jai Ma ~ Linda
