This is GeorgeSon. My Amma name is

Chitanand.

I am one of the coordinators of the

November 6, 2005 Mill Valley, CA

Hurricane Relef Concert and Feast.

(Please see link below)

....Through Amma's grace the organizers

have decided to set aside up to one

hundred seats for actual Bay Area

relocated evacuees and their

children.

Devotees and non devotees are

prayerfully encouraged to "sponsor"

the evacuees seated to help defray

overhead expenses.

M.A. Center would prefer that all

who are in Northern Cal next Sunday

attend the show in person. The show

stars Woodstock legend Country Joe

McDonald.

Dear GeorgeSon ~ when I was still working, one of the groups I worked with

was in Mill Valley, and I came to love it, in absentia, just from knowing these

wonderful people. I would give almost anything to be there for this

wonderful event. I will check out the link and purchase a ticket in absentia. I

hope

you will share the experience of this event with the group, perhaps post some

pics in the Folders section of our Page. Earlier, I wrote that

Amma devotees are some of the most organized folks in the world, and this is

just one very good example of that. Blessings to our our brothers and sisters

in Mill Valley and to the evacuees. Jai Ma ~ LInda

Dear Linda:

Thank you very much for the support Lindaji.

As you request I will give a full report of

the event to the Brothers and Sisters

on this list (with pics if possible.

The Concert has taken on a unique character.

The evacuees will be feted and honored.

This to me has Amma's distinct "non-visible"

touch.

Amma sees beyond the mundane. The Evacuees are

new to the area. This event may help them feel

more welcome in this often aloof San Francisco

Bay Area. Many of the evacuees have suffered

from racial discrimination back in Louisiana

and Misssissippi.

I pray that Amma showers them with a sense of

belonging (at least for these three hours).

Country Joe McDonald told a reporter from Marin

Countys biggest newspaper the Marin Independent

Journal today Oct. 31, that he is looking forward

to the dynamic of playing for actual "Refugees".

When the concert was at the initial idea stage

many involoved occupied the space of linear

thinking eg sell tickets, make money, help

Amma make good on her pledge to donate

one million dollars to Hurricane Relief enabling

Her volunteers to assist and fill gaps that

the Red Cross usually omits etc. etc.

However, somewhere along the line Amma's sweet

silent little hand nudged this Child (and

surprisingly the performers!) more toward the

goal of giving evacuees a fun evening filled

with Amma's love.

The evacuees ironically are what this is all about.

I need to remember my heart through the vagaries

of efficient implementation.

Namah Shivaya,

GeorgeSon

Dear GeorgeSon ~ It is so easy to let the details of getting something done,

and in the process forget about the goal itself. The change from a benefit

fundraiser for the evacuees to something that acknowledges and welcomes them is

fundemental, and as you did, I feel the hand of Amma in pointing back to the

heart. I am so excited by this, and will look forward to whatever you have

to share about how it went. Blessings ~ Linda

OM NAMAH SHIVAYA

DEAR LINDA:

LAKSHMI DEVI OPENS THE SHOW FROM 4:00 TO 4:30.

There is an Amma story around this.

I randomly surfed the web looking

for club performers exclusively

in Marin County. I came accross

a club in Novato, CA called Cafe

Amsterdam. On a Thursday night

(not a night for established performers)

the name Lakshmi Devi jumped out at me.

She was third on the bill (a very

inauspicious placement)

Lakshmi had a link from the club

site to her site. A little reluctantly

I went to her sight. Once on the site

I have to admit having a still un-tamed

mind, that I was somewhat attracted

by her physical beauty.

Next I clicked on her mp 3

The (2) mp3 segments blew me away. I called her and lo and behold

she is an Amma devotee (has had three or four darshans)

I had no idea about this.

Then still another Amma coincidence. Lakshmi not only knew Geoffrey

Gordon (who is on the bill toward the end) but has played with him

often at the "Open Secret Bookstore" in San Rafael, CA.

She said she is a borderline "Amma person" who has a very strong

desire to play for Amma.

Since you are a musician, Sister Linda, I would be curious what you

think of Lakshmi's mp3 clips inserted above.

Namaste,

Lakshmi Devi sounds wonderful! It is amazing that she is a child of

Amma and has also performed with Geoffrey Gordon and Krishna Das. She

sounds like the perfect addition to the program. Her level of

spiritual love will be so welcoming for the Katrina evacuees. I love

the examples of her music.

Blessings on All.
