Guest guest
This morning's New York Times reported that the United Nations does not have enough money to keep helicopter flights going into the mountainous region of Kashmir without an immediate influx of aid. Winter is fast approaching and there is only a small window of time left to deliver supplies such as tents, blankets, medicine, and food. Up to three million people may have been left homeless by the earthquake, and between the difficult political situation in the region and Americans up to their own eyeballs with hurricane disasters, it is as if it is just too much "disaster overload" for the news media to drum up support for our Kashmiri relatives. Here is a link to the BBC story on the situation: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4387376.stm I pray that further suffering not be inflicted on this region by the world's refusal to act. Could anybody at Amritapuri or a northern branch of the M.A. Math update us about our beloved Amma's efforts on this humanitarian cause? Thank you, Prashanti Rachel Gallop
